Cheap and simple solution. UPDATE: UPDATE: After a few days of use a problem has occurred: when using the PS5 (with the Virgin tv box in standby) the audio periodically shuts off. The only way to resolve it is to completely switch off the Virgin box (or remove the Toslink cable from it). It seems that the Virgin box periodically puts out some audio signal when in standby. NOT a fault of this splitter.

Recently had to buy a new tv. The old one had two audio outputs. The salesperson at Best Buy told us that most/all new TVs only have one. That was problematic because we used one for a sound bar and the other for a hearing aid tv connector which allows my husband to hear the tv directly in his hearing aids. This splitter was exactly what we needed to use both of those components. It works great and the sound quality has remained the same.
