This product replaced my membrane filter housing that I could not get open at all. The only problem with it is that there were no instructions for use on/in the package. Luckily I was able to figure things out via the photos on Amazon.Two tips:1. You have to put the Red fitting in the right place, at the clean water outtake. I put it at the intake and no water flowed.2. You don't have to do anything with the membrane. Most people won't even try, but because I was having an issue with #1, I ended up looking at the membrane as well. Maybe doublecheck its correctly tightened but otherwise its fully installed.

This is a great way to add additional capacity/gph output to a current RO system or to use in setting up your own DIY RO system.

I got this membrane / housing for a friend of mine who has a water filter under his sink, but which isn't RO (yet). It just has a particulate filter and 2 carbon filters.We are going to use this to upgrade his filter setup to full RO. All that is needed is 1: this housing / membrane, 2: a shut-off valve, 3: an expansion tank, and 4: a final-filter, and his so-so water filter will be 100% RO.If you're looking to expand an existing filter system, or build one yourself from scratch, this is a great "cornerstone" for your setup. The cost vs quality is pretty amazing, compared to some of the top name brands out there. And when you build your own RO system vs buying one pre-built, you can custom tailor it to your needs AND save some cash along the way. Win-win. This is an easy recommend at this price point...5 stars.
