Can this identify if a cable is 3.2 or 3.2 gen 2?... can it tell the difference?

This can tell you the wires that exist in the cable, which is useful in determining whether the cable is capable of those speeds. Take everything below with a grain of salt, as I'm still rather new to this topic: In a 20Gbps capable cable, you would expect all of the RX and TX lights to light up. 10Gbps capable cables would only have half of these light up. However, it is important to note that the devices you have plugged in are every bit as important as the cables themselves, so even if your cable is capable of 20Gbps, you might only get 5Gbps. 10Gbps can get extra confusing, as this can be achieved using 2x5Gbps-encoding lanes or 1x10Gbps-encoding lane. That means you might only get 5Gbps out of a 10Gbps-capable cable on a 10Gbps-capable device if the device does not support the faster encoding. This can tell you the capabilities of the cable, but it can't tell you what you will actually experience real-world.

jst 2 pin, the kind u find on 1 cell lipo's. I use the builtin battery cr2032 and just use the power source switch the 2032 on. so far not changed yet, just turn it on test cable and turn off. a lipo is just another thing to dangle off it, less messy to just use built in cr2032

Do you have a tester updated for USB-4 and Thunderbolt-4 cables? One that can identify the cable capabilites?

I do not, nor do I know of one.

What lights should be lit up for a lightning cable? I have some that aren't good for carplay and don't know why.
