I had an old coffee cup with a piece of aluminum foil over it to store my bacon fat and the other day I realized that I should probably trade up for something nicer. I loked at several of these, and decided on this one. I'd read some negative reviews about the top falling off and that it would rust after a few years.I took all that into account and then realized it was a $9 item. You can spend that on a cup of coffee these days so decided to order it.I'm glad I did. It's actually a bit larger than my coffee cup and I like the strainer. I don't mind that the top doesn't fit very tightly, that's ok. I just put it in the refrigerator and take it out when I have bacon grease. I probably should clean the strainer after each use, but I just let the large pieces stay until they get to be an amount where I figure I should clean it and so far that has worked well.The stainless steel or whatever it is looks nice. I didn't try to find out if it reacts to magnets or what kind of stainless steel it it because as I said earlier it's $9. If it rusts after a few years, I'll throw it away and get another one. If it was a $60 knife, I would be concerned, but a $9 place to store bacon fat... not so much.Overall, it looks good, it's functional and I like the fact that I now have a much more classy way to store the bacon fat :).If you are thinking about it, just go ahead and give it a dance.

Great product

The screen traps debris so bacon fat can be used for cooking other items. The lid doesn't fit very tightly, but that makes it easy to remove with 1 hand. Ok once I grew accustomed to it. I like that it is steel, not breakable and can go in the dishwasher. Not fancy, but a good product for the money: about 7.00 in Aug. '24. I would give it 5 stars if the metal was thicker.

Perfect size. I like it.

I use bacon grease a lot. I use it to season my cast iron I use for breakfasts, I cook greens in it, I even use a little with some olive oil for my stir fry. I was filtering it through a strainer into a glass jar. WHAT a hassle. It made a mess and never got everything out of it, and it looked kind of gross to people seeing the congealed grease out on the counter. I got this and it is awesome. I leave the screen on it and just take the lid off and pour into it. It gets everything! I rinse the screen and throw it in the dishwasher on the top rack and it's clean as a whistle. It's big enough I never worry about running out of space in it, and it looks really nice on the counter. Love everything about it. Good price too for what you're getting quality speaking.

I got this because my Nana always had a little jar of bacon grease near the stove and she would cook with it. I like that it's stainless and I can pour bacon grease directly into it while it's still hot. The strainer works good, although I wish the strainer holes were much smaller as little bits of bacon pieces still get through it. For that, 4 stars.

I have switched over to a lot of black iron and cast iron cookware.That being said, to have access to clean bacon grease has been awesome, not just in keeping them well seasoned but to have easy access when cooking. The size is great for pouring hot grease out of the skillet too. No more fumbling or spilling hot grease. The integrated fine screen top work perfectly. The base and top just finish off a great design for the purposes intended.
