Q: Has anyone mounted an orchid or staghorn fern on this item? Can it withstand moisture without splitting?

My piece was thinner and smaller than I thought I was getting. Maybe didn't read it right. I have cement art and it barely holds.

Q: will these for a porch decoration like a snowman?

I have never used one outside but I’m sure it would work in a dry climate. It’s a thick piece of wood but if moisture gets on it and dry weather after a while the wood would probably crack or warp. But if you seal it with a clear sealer or use paint I think it should work. People use wood decorations often for door decorations and number plaques so that should work with a good sealer. Look on the internet for wood decorations for outside and see what comes up. Good luck!

Q: How long is the small? And the thick size?

the sizes vary, some will be bigger than others I got 4 smalls, 1 was 6x8 and the other 3 were 4x4. they are about 3/4 inch thick

Q: Would I be able to do an image transfer onto this wood?

For sure. Both sides come very smooth and clean.
