Q: Why are there 3 wires instead of 2? Red black and white. Whats the 3rd wire for and which ones are positive and negative?

The lights are configured for two brightness modes. Black is the negative, white I believe is the dimmer of the two brightness, while red the brighter one. This allows them to be used in a manner similar to marker/turn signals or running lights/brake lights.

Q: What size drill bit do i need to install these?

3/4 inch bit but you may want to work up to a 3/4 bit
