Thick Candle Wood Wicks (0.75 x 5.12 inch) – A Great Choice for Candle Making
If you’re a candle-making enthusiast looking for a natural and aesthetically pleasing wick option, these Thick Candle Wood Wicks (0.75 x 5.12 inches) are a solid choice. Designed for larger candles, they provide a unique crackling sound that adds a cozy ambiance to any room. After testing them in different wax types and jar sizes, here’s what I found: Pros: ✅ Great Burn & Strong Flame – These wicks create a steady, beautiful flame that works well with soy, paraffin, and beeswax blends. They burn evenly and produce a pleasant flickering effect. ✅ Cozy Crackling Sound – One of the standout features is the soft crackling sound, reminiscent of a fireplace. It enhances the overall sensory experience of using homemade candles. ✅ Good Thickness for Larger Jars – The 0.75-inch width makes them ideal for larger candle containers, preventing tunneling and ensuring a more even burn. ✅ Easy to Use – They come with metal wick clips, which makes securing them in the container hassle-free. Just ensure you trim them to the right height before lighting. Cons: ❌ May Require Double-Wicking – In some wax types (especially 100% soy), a single wick might not provide enough heat for full melting. Doubling the wicks can help, but it requires some experimentation. ❌ Wick Preparation Needed – For best results, pre-soaking in melted wax and ensuring a firm attachment to the base is necessary. If not prepared properly, they may extinguish prematurely. ❌ Not Ideal for Small Candles – Due to their thickness, these wicks are better suited for medium to large jars rather than small votives or tea lights. Final Verdict: These wooden wicks are a great addition to any candle maker’s toolkit, especially if you enjoy the crackling ambiance they provide. They work well with various waxes but may require some testing to find the perfect combination for your candles. If you’re making bigger candles, these wicks are a great choice. However, if you’re working with smaller containers or pure soy wax, you might need to experiment with double-wicking or using a thinner alternative. Overall, a solid 4/5 – great for larger candles, but with a slight learning curve. Would I buy them again? Yes, especially for larger soy or beeswax candles! 🔥🕯️

Let's burn one
So these work great and are easy to use! If you have jar held candles, heat up wax, take out the old wick and add one or two to it and boom you're done! Now since it's all wood it burns faster and bigger. You may get a smoke. To help with that dunk the wood wick in the wax a few times to coat it and then trim.the top off. If you have candles in metal shallow containers, while a stand or two, turn the wick horizontal... Coat it first so it burning slower.

Great wick - sounds like a tiny crackling fireplace
This was my first candle making foray so I don’t have any prior experience. I used soy candle wax (unscented/undyed) and doubled the wood wicks (per recommendation when using soy wax). I soaked the wicks in olive oil (laying flat in a Pyrex dish) for about 20 minutes and set the wicks up in the metal stands that came with the package. I then poured the wax in the cup and added them to the cup to let them cure in the wax. After 24 hours of letting the wax cure, I trimmed the wick with scissors (which was easy, even doubled up) and then after 48 hours I tried to trim it with nail clippers to get it nice and close to the wax fuel (that didn’t go as smoothly as the scissor cut and made it look less tidy). It lit well and burned nicely. I didn’t notice any smoke while burning. I had it going for about 25 minutes with no issues. It made a very soft crackling sound, like a tiny fireplace. So far I’m very happy with the product and would absolutely get again if the results are repeatable.

Not quality
These wicks are lacking in quality. I soaked the wicks as instructed and made my candles. They do not stay lit and create a lot of smoke. I do not recommend this product.

Wood-burning wicks for home candle making.
If you are venturing into candle-making, these wood crackling wicks are a unique addition. Simply set it into your candle at the desired height while making your candle. When they are lit, there is no smoke level, with the added ambiance of a crackling wood wick sound. Durable to withstand placements during making your candles, very easy to place, and use. Burn quality is very nice. Great value for the money, comes in multiples.

Great value 👏
I used 2 wicks for this candle, which is my Candle that I am using for promotional use only. When I use this candle, I also test it out and take the photos that I need for advertising. I predipped my wicks in olive oil first. And I only use 2 because of the. Reviews that I have been seeing from the wooden wicks. This is my first time using them. I recommend, you soak them first, and make sure that you use only one. If it is a small container or jar. The one I am using is 3 x 3. I also feel like I should have cut the Wick just a little shorter before lighting it. But overall, I am satisfied with the outcome. You just need to have patience with them. I will definitely purchase again.
