A must-buy for the A-Fib sufferer looking for valuable advice.
I only wish I had found the recommendation for this book a number of years ago - it would have saved me a lot of discomfort and worry. Don't delay purchasing this book if you want to be able to manage your A-Fib and talk to medical professionals knowledgeably.

a useful review of the area
A clear and comprehensible book. Positive and encouraging about the need to pursue a cure rather than forever accept less - e.g. drug treatments which may be useful or essential in the short term but which are are open-ended.

GREAT
Gives a wealth of information about atrial fibrillation, including drug and non-drug treatment options. I am looking forward to working my way through the book in the hope that something works. I am pleased with my purchase and would buy again.

Not sure about this one.
Very informative book. However, the main theme seems to be that a-fib only ever gets worse, the drugs don't work well, and to really fix it you need ablation or surgery. Although some of this surgery is via catheter ablation or keyhole surgery, some is considerably more invasive. The case studies appear to have been chosen to support this central theme. For me there wasn't enough about alternative approaches. The book states that "Anyone in A-Fib" is almost certainly magnesium deficient, but it doesn't really explore the success or failure of using of magnesium supplements. Similar comments apply to triggers such as caffeine or alcohol, for me there wasn't enough about the likelihood of gaining benefit by stopping consumption. There's also not enough in the case studies about the side effects of the drugs that are typically used. To my mind it appears biased towards ablation therapy. Maybe the book is right and ablation/surgery is the best way, but I'd rather have seen the other options explored in more detail.

Wonderful ideas but not available in the UK
My mother says that the book has some wonderful ideas and describes many options that ought to have been tried before she was fitted with a pacemaker. Then she found out that many of the treatments were only available in America.
