I had new kitchen cabinets installed. A hole was cut in the cabinet for the outlet under the sink and the cabinet was then set against the wall. Well, this left the oulet deeply recessed behind the cabinet cutout and I needed a way to bring it forward before new sink was installed, which would have made it more difficult to get to due to pipes. In the process of trying to fix it, I stripped the bottom J-box screw hole. Oh boy...what do I do, now. Can't pull the cabinet out. It now has a quartz counter on top of it. I was searching for a fix and found g-clip. It worked perfectly to tighten the outlet. Now, I'll tell you how I brought the outlet from the wall to make it flush with the cabinet. I had to pull the oulet forward, insert a metal C adapter around the outlet hole at the jbox, insert the screw into the outlet hole and then insert a rubber spacer, which went onto the screw. Screw was then fed threw the screw hole on the adapter and into the g-clip. Perfect, perfect, perfect. What I thought was going to be an impossible task with cost for electrician was turned into a DIY project for only pennies. Outlet is nice and tight. Took me maybe 15 minutes to get it all done.

I had 2 outlet on exterior concrete walls with broken screw holes on plastic boxes. and outlets were not usable, because you couldn’t pull a plug out without the whole outlet coming out of the wall.. Chipping out and replacing the boxes was not an option. These worked amazing and my new outlet fit in tight and secure to the wall. Was a little tricky to figure out how to secure it the first time but once I figured it out, it worked perfect on the other 3 screw holes.

My dad lives in a stereotypical 80s suburban house that was thrown together with absolutely zero concern for anything besides maximizing profit. Everything is cheap, and all the work is beyond shoddy. These cute little clips let me fix old brittle outlet boxes without turning it into some huge saga involving cutting out and repatching drywall, which is good, because I detest drywall. Depending on how the box lines up with the drywall they can be a little fiddly to get in and lined up. Some pop right in, some require a combination of needle noise pliers, a flat blade screw driver, and choice language. That said, average time to rip an outlet out, put a couple clips in, and put a new decorator style outlet and cover on is less than 10 minutes, even one of the clips decides to fight. Not bad, especially considering the alternatives.

Almost all of the electrical boxes in my house are broken. The outlet wants to pull out of the wall when you unplug something. Longer screws worked for a while, but the plastic has gotten brittle and splits around them. I had to cut away a little drywall, to make a gap below the box. I wedged the first g-clip on the box and lightly tapped it in with a hammer. After screwing in the outlet, the clip slipped right off the box. Apparently, I broke the bite tabs off the clip and put a crack in the box about 3/8" in, perpendicular to the screw hole. I took off a star because the clip broke pretty easily, though it may have been my fault... The replacement clip pushed right in and has been holding up for almost 2 years now.

My electric box has the hole for the bolt sticking out at the top, so the top of the box is not flat. This product doesnt fit this kind of box unfortunately. Other than that it looks to be able to do the job
