Zero Shine SPF Small Jar - Scalp Micropigmentation to Mattify and Moisturize

I don’t write reviews unless the product really impresses me. I’m a bald guy and have not had SMP. Just a regular bald guy. This is the best product I’ve ever used to control the shine on my head. There is literally no shine after applying and it’s long lasting. I’ve also tried the Zero Shin without SPF. There is something about the SPF formula that in my opinion makes a more matte look and lasts longer. After a 12 hour day with Zero Shine SPF, my head had no shine or greasy feel at all. After about 6 hours with the regular Zero Shine SPF, I start to notice the slightest bit of shine returning. I’ll be purchasing Zero Shine SPF moving forward. It’s an amazing product!!

A must-have if you razor-shave your Dome. Eliminates shiny, reflective, oily-looking head. And sunburn protection too… nice! And a very little amount goes a long way. Think of it as shoe polish for your best formal-attire dress shoes, except for your head. Not cheap, but definitely worth the price!

I used this product during a recent hot trip filled with photos. It was excellent; it reduced shine and did not clog my pores.

I’ve been using the Zero Shine SPF Small Jar for just about a week, and I already see why so many people recommend it. I keep my head shaved and have had scalp micropigmentation (SMP), so keeping things looking clean, natural, and not shiny is a top priority. This product does exactly that — gives you a smooth, hydrated, matte finish without that oily glare that most moisturizers leave behind. Let’s get right to the point: this stuff works. I’ve tried other moisturizers, sunscreens, and so-called matte balms before, and they either leave a greasy film or dry out my scalp completely. Zero Shine somehow threads the needle perfectly. It moisturizes just enough to keep the skin healthy and calm — especially after shaving — but once it dries (which takes just a few seconds), the finish is truly matte. Not semi-matte. Not “less shiny.” Just clean, smooth, no-glare skin. That’s exactly what I wanted. It’s especially useful if you’ve had SMP. A shiny scalp reflects light in all the wrong ways and can make even well-done micropigmentation look off. With this balm, the pigment looks more natural, blends better with your real skin tone, and doesn’t draw unwanted attention. I’ve even had a couple people mention that my head looks really smooth without knowing I had anything on it. The added SPF protection is another win. A lot of people overlook how important daily sunscreen is on a shaved head or SMP-treated scalp, but this stuff makes it easy. It doesn’t smell like sunscreen, doesn’t leave a white cast, and doesn’t feel thick or pasty. You’d never know it had SPF just by texture alone. It’s a smart inclusion and keeps you protected without extra steps. Now, the elephant in the room: price. Thirty bucks for a small jar is definitely on the high side. When I first opened it, I thought, “This better be magic in a jar.” And to be fair — while it’s not magic, it does do what it promises. A little goes a long way, so the jar will last longer than it looks, but I still think $20 would feel more reasonable. That said, I’ll probably still reorder when I run out, just because I haven’t found anything else that works this well. The jar is compact and easy to travel with, too. I keep one in my bathroom and toss it in my bag if I’m on the move. I like that it doesn’t melt, smear, or make a mess in the heat — it holds up well even after a long day. Pros: • Leaves scalp perfectly matte — no shine at all • Moisturizes without grease or residue • SPF protection built in (and undetectable) • Great for post-SMP maintenance or freshly shaved heads • No scent, no white cast, no irritation • Small jar is travel-friendly and lasts a while Cons: • Price is steep at $30 for a small jar • Might take a few seconds to absorb fully Final Thoughts: Yes, the Zero Shine SPF Balm is a little pricey — but it’s also the only product I’ve used that actually keeps my scalp matte all day while moisturizing and protecting it. If you’ve dealt with shine, greasy lotions, or sunscreens that ruin your SMP look, this is worth trying at least once. After a week of use, I can already tell this is going to be a permanent part of my daily routine. It’s not cheap, but for the confidence and clean finish it gives? Totally worth it.

Loved the original, and now I love it more with the sun screen. I also like the new container and consistency of the product better. The consistency of this newer SPF version is less oily. Only negative is I feel I need to use more product to get the same coverage and matte effect.

Best product on the market for bald dudes and people with SMP. Hand downs 10/10.

Recently started shaving my head and found out I have a really shiny scalp. after trying out a couple of products, this worked the best. It doesn’t take much and it does last all day. It doesn’t have a smell, it goes on pretty light, and it’s not overly greasy. It is a little pricey, but It’s definitely worth it. Will definitely be ordering more.

Great for use when outside in the sun and prevents the over shine of a bald head!
