I measured my window rails in every possible to ensure these would fit. As shown they should have fit. BUT my windows have an inner lip on the rails that cannot be seen. Its just big enough to cause these to bind. Good product and seems to be very strong.

I ordered the locks to secure the windows at my cabin where I need to make sure the windows are properly secured over the winter months when the cabin is not normally in use. Overall, I liked the locks but found that they were a bit difficult to install when trying to tighten the set screws using the enclosed Allen key.The channels on my aluminum windows have a lower profile and when the locks are attached and the set screws tightened, the handle on the Allen Key catches on the window sill making it difficult to tighten down the set screws.The other issue I noted is that the width of the lock channel was too wide at least for my particular type of older windows so that when the set screws were tightened it caused the aluminum channel on the windows to bend out of shape. (Picture included) The locks were still useful in securing the windows. I don’t believe the bending issue would likely be a problem on newer more modern windows.

I like the double security on the lock with the rubber sheeting that serves to hold the lock in position. I'm finding the rubber causes the lock to move around. The key needs to be redesigned so it clears the window pane. Might return them.

I put 2 on top and 2 on bottom on my sliding glass door. They feel very premium - heavy metal and come with a rubberized gripper to put between the frame and the screws so you don't have to worry about the lock leaving marks on your door and window frames. They are holding in place great and feel very secure.

I have been looking for something like this for awhile now. And I came across this set of 8 and decided to give it a try. I am pleased to say that the set of lock's are exactly as promised. The security locks are constructed from a strong very sturdy metal. They have included a silicone piece that sits over the edge of the window track not only to protect the metal frame but also works well to add security to the lock itself. The set includes one silicone for each of the locks, there are 2 plastic screws for each of the (8) locks, and then also they have provided (2) key's that are needed for install and the removal of the window locks. I got these for my parent's house that is a rambler, and in the summer months they like to leave the windows open at night to allow the house to get cool air. My dad used to have small wood sticks that he would set into the window track and would not allow the windows to slide as they normally do. So I ordered and installed these on the windows that I knew they like to use. Replacing the old wooden sticks I felt were a healthy move this year. So no more icky wood sticks laying in the window tracks. I would say that if you are planning on using these in your home for a similar situation then maybe you should think of having on hand extra key's or tools for each of the locks. In the event the window would need to be opened quickly - then you would be able to do so without having to run to the garage to grab the key's in order to properly remove the bracket from the window track. But for obvious reason's if you are using these as a security tool for child safety on a second story window then prob not best to leave extra keys around for the little ones to access and play with. It would not be hard for them to figure it out. These are very simple to install. I really like how the install looks when done. It is hardly noticeable and works perfect. So I am happy they will be safe and able to leave the windows open, and my dad was happy to see the icky sticks go to the trash. All around thumbs up for this one! Highly recommend
