Make it easy for your family to see out the front door.
I recently purchased the door scope and let me tell you, this thing is a game changer. Not only does it work like a charm, but I can now see who's at my front door from a solid 7 feet away. No more guessing who's knocking, no more peeking through the blinds, this baby gives you a clear view every time. And let's talk about the price. I'm always looking for a good deal, and I've got to say, this door scope was definitely worth every penny. It's a steal for the quality and performance you're getting. Now, a little heads up for those of you who are handy like me, you'll need a 2-3/8" diameter hole saw to get this thing installed. But don't worry, the process was a breeze and only took me 20 minutes from start to finish. I was in and out of the hardware store in no time!Another thing I love about this door scope is that it seems to be well insulated. I live in a pretty chilly climate and I was worried about the cold air coming through, but nope! This baby is tight and doesn't transfer any of that unwanted chill. And last but not least, I gotta say, I'm a fan of the color. It's sleek and modern, and it just looks good on my front door. All in all, I'm beyond happy with my purchase and I highly recommend this door scope to anyone looking for a reliable and stylish solution to seeing who's at their front door. Trust me, you won't regret it. Five stars all the way!

Works pretty good!
I installed one of these for a neighbor and we are both impressed with it. This one is built sturdy with an aluminum housing (some of them have plastic housings). The image produced on the inside of the door is crisp and clear. Unfortunately my pics don't do it justice. The images were too bright for my camera to capture I guess.Performance wise, you get about what you get from a standard peephole. The difference is that you don't put your face up against the door to view the outside. Rather you stand back a bit. It needs to be viewed almost straight on, not at an angle. At two or three feet back you see the same details that you would with a standard peephole. At ten or even twelve feet back you can see if someone is at the door but probably not who it is. Naturally, after dark it's going to depend on how good the lighting is around the outside of the door, just like with a standard peephole.Something to know is that these things reversed the image. Right is on the left and left is on the right. In my opinion that isn't a thing. I don't care. This is a fun alternative to a standard peephole and I recommend it!

Re-learning the peephole...
Had to rethink the way I look through a peephole. No longer would I put my face up against my door, and gaze out with one eye to see if I could make out a figure on the other side. The adjustment for me was learning where to stand to see who was out there. True, the image is reversed, but I sure got a clear and distinct view of the person outside. I saw reviews that cautioned you could see inside from outside. I'm glad I ignored those reviews. Haven't found that to be the case. The image is projected through a prism, and there is nothing distinguishing that can be seen from outside. Had to adjust my lighting so I wouldn't be backlit. All in all, a very fine product.

Good scope, though slightly crooked
We bought this for our new door as it didn't have windows or a peep hole. It provides a fantastic, albeit reversed (nothing to do about that) view of the other side of your door. My only complaint is that I used the provided sticker template for drilling my holes and checked and double checked the sticker alignment with a bubble level and ensured it was correct, and the installed scope still provides a slightly tilted image. I'm not sure what went wrong here but it bothers me slightly. Otherwise, we are very happy with it.

This thing is great!
The image is very clear and you can see from at least 10 feet back as you approach the door. It is quick and easy to install but you will need a 2/38” hole drill. (I got mine at Harbor Freight for $15). My only regret is not having one sooner.

Not a substitute for a full area view camera
About 10% of the lens seems to have been scuffed . The vertical view is limited (due to prisim?) so that the bottom area near the door is obscured (cannot see small package placed door). No opportunity has existed to determine quality of facial recognition. I have a somewhat smaller peep hole device in the same door and the field of view is actually (while definately smaller) wider than with the DS/2000. I won' t return the viewer with this commentary due to the over 2" hole drilled into the door.

Easy installation
Nice wide image. Feels like a quality product. No more running to a side window to see who's at the door!
