Miracle-Gro Fruit & Citrus Plant Food Spikes

I figured I should give my trees and shrubs some fertilizer so decided to go with stakes. I have always been happy with the Miracle grow brand so figured these were good ones. I know some people have talked about them arriving broken, mine arrived with minimal breakage actually the amount that I would expect if I purchased them off a store shelf, so I am happy with the quality. I put them in the ground with a mallet and for the most part it was easy, I would have done a better job if the ground was a bit softer. As for the end results to my plants I cannot comment on as it is too soon, and plant health is subject to so many variables.

Every spring we use these around our orchard trees. Makes a big difference in the fruit size. We use a large iron bar to preset the holes in the ground then just tap the spike into the hole. Last all season. Apply to drip line of trees around Mother’s Day & trees are set for the growing season.

This stuff is easy but if you have larger peach or other fruit trees, it's easier and cheaper to get a different pour type fertilizer. My biggest problem with these sticks is that they are kinda brittle, so you HAVE to put them in when the ground is wet and soft, otherwise these will break. I find it easier to just take a pick and knock a long hole in the ground and then push these in by hand, you could also use a trowel.While this fertilizer stick works as intended, my biggest complaint is they include just one plastic cap.(In theory you tap your hammer against this and it acts as a bumper for the stick so it doesn't break, kind of like your phone case protecting your phone against drops). However once on a stick, it's impossible to get it off, making it useless for the other fertilizer sticks in the pack.

These spikes have been wonderful. My husband tapped them into the ground around the pine trees and Willow tree and in one week there is beautiful hearty new growth. Also shrubs azaleas and arborvitaes also had great new growth. I recommend this product.

No brainer here. Use every year all around garden. Plants, trees, large grasses. Put in ground, water as always and you see a difference. Great for all olive trees, palms and ornamental grasses which literally have grown 2x over 2 months. Good amount of nitrogen and very fair price

It’s a to go to brand it’s definitely does the job. I used it for my overall plant it really good for the roots and it helped with the growth.

Nice idea, but in practice the plastic cap doesn't cut it. The first spike I pounded in was fine. The second time, the top part of the spike broke off and remained stuck inside the cap. I had to dig it out with a screwdriver. Same thing with the third spike. Next I tried to pound one of the spikes in without using the cap. It shattered into pieces. I'll stick with granulated fertilizer.

These are a must have for new trees. I would highly recommend these. Have helped all my trees that are newer grow so well.
