These are so comfortable and I bring them with me everywhere just in case I end up somewhere loud (loud screeching train, impromptu bar outing ect). The carrying case is awesome. Durable, small, and effective! great clip. These dont make me feel like im drowning when I wear them, since they keep the sound waves balanced, just slightly quieter. The gooey, swimmers ear plugs make me feel claustrophobic. They don't block out all noise, which is great for listening to concerts or talking to people in loud places. I sleep with them in when there are parties going on outside my apartment and they help a lot. I used these during my MCAT examination.

The sounds were so clear,
I bought these earplugs because my daughter plays in a band workshop every week in a small room. With so many instruments and amplifiers running, it gets loud. The sound doesn't seem to bother anyone else (maybe they're all mildly deaf), but it bothers us; so we made do with foam earplugs and wax earplugs, neither of which proved satisfactory. They didn't fit our ears and the sounds were so muffled, she had trouble knowing how she sounded in relation to the other musicians.DownBeats is incredible. The earplugs are small and inconspicuous. They fit my daughter and me perfectly and are comfortable to wear. The sounds were so clear, I thought they weren't working, so I took one out and instantly realized they were indeed doing their job. I could hear conversations, too. No muffling. It's like someone turned down the volume on the radio. I swear, I wish I knew how these work.I bought the purple case for my daughter and the black case for me. If I lose my set, I'll come back to buy blue, because metallic purple looks so pretty.

Low profile, can hear clearly, work as designed.
These are very small, which can be a challenge to get in and out of the ear, but definitely low profile and comfortable. They don't remove as much noise as I would like, but definitely work as stated. You can definitely hear clearly with these in. After wearing for an hour, I realized that they are actually removing sound once I removed them. They definitely reduce the volume. It may be better if the little hearing holes in the center were a little smaller and let in a little less sound, but they are for people who want to be able to hear clearly, and I can definitely understand conversations, music, the television, etc. So they do function as designed. I like the low profile once I figured out how to get them in my ear. It was easier when pulling the top of my ear up and out a little while inserting. They key chain case is nice and stylish. They look exactly like in the picture. I will probably order a different pair with more volume reduction (ones without a hearing tube) for things like shooting guns. These are perfect for watching loud TV with a hard-of-hearing person in the room (which is exactly what I needed them for).

wonderful for autistics stuck in service jobs and really saves your hearing
i've never tried it actually at a concert but it's been wonderful for taking the edge off of all the incredibly overwhelming sensory situations that happen working a coffee shop without getting crap from controlling bosses or having to take them out constantly to hear customers properly. it takes a bit to get used to how they feel (like they're barely in your ear when they're actually quite far in), and i have to gently readjust them a few times throughout the day, but they work wonderfully.loud sounds that i used to tolerate like scooping ice, the blender, or the echo created by large steaming pitchers in use are now completely intolerable when i don't have any earplugs in. which means i was TOTALLY LOSING MY HEARING A BIT and now they're back to normal! even if you aren't autistic, there are many dangerous sound levels slowly dulling your sense of hearing that you can avoid with plugs like these!

Takes edge off of noises
Bought this for the Eras Tour last year and was glad to have this - my ears didn't hurt at all and I was able to enjoy the music clearly.Best use so far was when the fire alarm was malfunctioning and screeching at full blast at random moments throughout the night. With the plugs in, the soul-scratching screech was no longer tearing through my being. Sure I could hear it but my brain wasn't being fried up the way it did without the earplugs, and I was even able to fall back asleep and not get fully awoken for the rest of the night. Use it and protect your sanity.

Good noise reduction and fits smaller ears comfortably
I am an orchestral musician and use ear plugs almost every time I play with a large ensemble. I have had trouble finding earplugs that are comfortable-I think my ears are a little on the small side. I have used Etymotic earplugs in the past, and am still very happy with them, but I was looking for a lower profile option, which is why I tried the Downbeats earplugs.I also tried the new etymotic earplugs with the shorter stem, and found them very uncomfortable (too large and with a sharp edge), and the eargasm high fidelity earplugs, which felt way too big in my ear. I then found the eargasm smaller ears version, which I am pretty happy with.Overall, the downbeats are more comfortable than the eargasm smaller ears earplugs, but the eargasm are a little easier to remove from my earThe etymotic with the longer stems are the easiest to place correctly in my ear and remove, and are about the same comfort level or slightly more comfortable than the downbeats, but the long stem can be a problem depending on what you want to use them for (higher profile, the stem is uncomfortable to sleep in or have headphones on over top of-I know that sounds weird to have headphones on top of ear plugs, but in places like planes that are very loud, I have to raise the volume of my iPod in order to hear, but that passes the safe level, so if I want to listen for longer at the higher volume, I have tried it with earplugs underneath the headphones)

Cheap case for good product
I loved these things, but if the cheap ring attached to the clip doesn't break, the case will unscrew itself. Lost three of these so far, I'm done wasting my money. Shame, since they're my favorite earplugs I've ever used. Comfortable, low profile, and great for work since you can still hear people talking.
