It's great! Just prep beforehand for the mess!
Purchased as a gift for my step kiddo - he loved it!Only complaint - I just wasn't expecting it to be as messy as it was. I'm not sure what exactly the material was that the stones were put in for the kids to mine it out of. Somehow he managed to get this clay-like substance everywhere. Could be user error (since my step kiddo LOVES to make a mess). But when it comes time for your kids to have at it, just be prepared to clean, prep before, or do it outside!

Planet digging kit
My granddaughter enjoyed doing this digging kit. It has two gems in each planet. Also come with necklaces to put a gem in to wear. She has done a lot of these digging kits, and this was one of her favorites. Would recommend it.

Great for middle aged kids
My 7year old loved this. It did not take him longe to dig everything out and once that was over with there was a huge dust mess to clean up from the planets you dig into. It is worth the money even with the mess.

Son Loved this but missing 2 gems :(
My son loved breaking open the “planets” for the gems. The planets look like the picture however his step dad thinks they could have looked a bit more realistic but to a 6yr old they were awesome. Only reason I took a star away was because the box says there should be 16 gems, he only had 14. Every planet had 2 gems inside besides two of them. The gems are pretty and he also enjoyed making a couple necklaces out of them!! Even though short 2 gems, I would still recommend this gift!

My daughter loves this!
My daughter that I got it for was 10 when I got her this and she absolutely loved it! She had so much fun coloring and setting up her solar system. There was a lot of stuff in the kit, good quality and still she has the stuff displayed in her room at her dad's house! They're decent size and it was a little messy but honestly the messiness depends on the age of the kid you're getting it for and if they can handle it responsibly. I wouldn't get it for any kids under 7/8 honestly because it may make a lot of mess hahaBut regardless, my daughter absolutely loved it and wants another kit like it!

Beautiful but disappointing
The outside of the planets are beautiful. Unfortunately the gems are small and a couple of the planets had only one rock in them.
