Tears right through weeds
Used it to tear out a lot of creeping weeds in my lawn, then used it to loosen up soil and plant grass seed- the grass seed is growing and weeds haven’t been as much of a problem in the area I used this in.

This is laborious but the most effective method
This removed more thatch than an electric thatcher.. sometimes manual is the way to go

good item,
used it barely when i first showed up. not hard to put together... so far not much trouble with it... i did not tighten the pole pieces super tight but firm.. did have top handle loosen some not not bad.... i'm sure if i get it just a little tighter it will stay, if not i will use a little dab of thread lock or a dab of fuzz it adhesive it will stay permanently. but it worked really well so far getting thatch up

Really works!
Ingenious design catches the thatch and leaves the growing grass. The forward stroke drops the thatch, clearing the tines for another go without lifting the rake off the turf.. Nice!

Not worth your money
I had high hopes for this thatching rake when I first ordered it. It looked sturdy in the product photos, had a good number of positive reviews, and I liked the idea of the stainless steel handle and a nice wide rake head for faster yard work. Unfortunately, the reality of using this rake has been extremely disappointing, to the point where I stopped halfway through the job and genuinely considered throwing it away. The biggest problem? The shaft is made up of three separate sections that screw together, and those joints constantly come loose during use. After just a few swings, the whole handle starts wobbling. I’ve tried tightening it again and again, but after a few minutes of raking, it’s back to being unstable and practically unusable. It doesn’t matter how tightly you screw it together—this tool simply wasn’t designed to stay secure during actual yard work. This design flaw is baffling. When I’m raking, I shouldn’t have to stop every two minutes to re-tighten the handle. It completely kills productivity and turns a simple job into an aggravating mess. The tines themselves seem decent, and the rake can pull up thatch and loosen soil when it’s stable, but that moment is short-lived.What’s even more frustrating is that a lot of the reviews I read before purchasing seem to be Vine reviews—meaning those reviewers received the product for free. I, on the other hand, paid full price with my own money, and I feel like I got ripped off. I can’t help but wonder if the flood of glowing reviews are from people who didn’t have to spend a dime, because from my experience, this product is absolutely not worth your money.I really wanted to like this rake, but the poor ergonomic design, constant loosening of the shaft, and overall lack of stability make it a hard no for me. If the handle had been a single, solid piece—or even if the joints locked properly—it could have been great. But in its current form, this rake is more trouble than it’s worth.
