I bought this to pick up nails out of my burn pit after burning construction project. I’m not sure if it does, but it seems like it picked up every single nail that was in there the extender is sort of flimsy, however, this does not affect the magnet. I’m not sure why you would need a stronger extension if you’re just using it for your shop floor or bonfire pit.

I purchased this magnetic telescoping tool when we recently had our roof replaced. I used it to collect all of the stray nails that the roofers missed in our flower beds and swimming pool. It’s a comfortable length and did help me save time by preventing the need to bend over to collect nails by hand.Once assembled, I did notice that it doesn’t sit completely straight because the pole leans at a slight angle, but for such a low price, it works well and helped me to accomplish what I set out to do. So the overall quality and craftsmanship led me to deduct a star, but it’s easy to use, and it takes up very little space with the slim profile of its design.
