The Navajo Ceremonial Basket is used for many occasions. It is often referred to as the wedding basket, where the bride and groom will eat cornmeal from it druing the wedding cermony. Also, the basket is used in healing and Beauty Way ceremonies. The basket is made from sumac, which is gathered by the weaver and stripped for use.
