The Soul of My Son: A Grieving Father's Journey from Skeptic to Psychic Medium

This book gives a very real and courageous perspective about losing a loved one. The author Steven Joseph really shares his journey in spirituality after losing his son to suicide. What I found comforting is he started his journey from a place of skepticism. Those of us who have experienced such a tragedy has asked questions of why? Some of us may have questioned our faith, beliefs or our religion. There is a reality that I think some of us are afraid to admit but can relate to...a reality that allows you to feel what's outside the parameters and rituals of what your religion or traditional belief system suggests on how to deal with death and spiritual growth. I definitely recommend reading this book. I actually read it in one day. When a man who never really bought into spirituality or religions has the unimaginable thing that no parent on this earth would ever want to experience...burying your child. To then look at life...the universe...the most high and say prove me wrong...SHOW ME! This author shares the ability to question and seek to know a truth that is out there. The real question is are you ready for the answers?

It's an odd little book -- enjoyable to read but Dad goes way off into his own journey -- I was thinking the book was more about his son, but it's not. This book brings up many interesting ideas, I am not sure what I think of parts of it yet, but this Dad has transformed his life and for that I congratulate him.

An honest, brave telling of one mans spiritual journey and awakening, brought on by the tragic suicide of his young adult son, from skeptic to medium. Reminds us that sometimes the most painful and heartbreaking experience can bring about life changing, soul changing journeys that bring us to our true selves.

This speaks to my soul and heart! I find wisdom and hope in these pages. As a parent who has lost a child, this is a book I can wrap my head around.

This is a wonderful book for those who have lost a child. I found that a lot of my personal experiences have paralleled the author's, and his writings of his experiences are very comforting.
