I am excited to share that I really like this microphone system. I am used to the PTU-7000 and this system is very similar with a few extra features/upgrades. The signal strength of this unit is great along with not picking up any outside white noise. I love the auto scan feature and the IR connectivity of the microphones. The microphones also have a low RF setting is perfect for smaller venues with less range needs and low interference. I also thoroughly appreciate that it seems Phenyx Pro is listening to it's customers. The body packs that come with this unit are much more durable than their other body packs. I don't fear that I will break any parts on these things very easily. The only thing to really note is the handheld mics do require to be very close to the users mouth. This is due to the mic design to mitigate outside noise like wind and feedback, which they do very well at. Long story short if you are familiar with Phenyx Pro products you are going to like this unit. If you are not familiar, I strongly believe Phenyx Pro is a great avenue to explore for your microphone needs as they do provide great quality and support while remaining competitive with other manufacturers..

IR Synchronization: The system features a one-button IR Sync function to link the receiver and transmitter effortlessly. I got a spare handheld mic to go with this system so I can use the headset it handheld as needed it

I have owned the Phenyx Pro PTU-2U-1H1B for a couple of weeks now and I have to say that I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. This particular system includes 1 handheld wireless microphone and 1 bodypack that can be used with either a lavalier or ear-worn microphone, or even a wired handheld dynamic microphone (requires adapter), providing flexible options for different situations. The sound quality is very good, delivering clear audio without interference. I found that I could easily move throughout our entire 1300-seat auditorium without worrying about experiencing dropouts. The range is impressive, allowing me to maintain a strong connection even when we took the microphone over 150 feet away to our mechanical/electrical room. The True Diversity Receiver helps to maintain the reliable connection from the transmitter to the receiver. This is a very welcome addition as there are no other affordable wireless microphone systems that offer true diversity in their receivers. Setting up the system was easy, thanks to the IR emitter/receiver, which is used to sync the frequency on the Tx/Rx units. The Bodypack is all-metal construction for long-lasting durability. I found the bodypack to be light enough to wear for long periods of time and clipped on to my belt without any problems. The ability to switch between a handheld microphone and a lavalier/ear-worn microphone adds flexibility for various presentation styles or for concurrent use. One mic could be used as a music directors mic or talkback mic depending on your use case. The durability of the Phenyx Pro wireless microphone system is very impressive. In my many years of purchasing budget microphones, I’ve always been disappointed with the build quality. The mostly metal construction feels solid, and I can tell that it's built to withstand the rigors of regular use. The battery life is about the same as other units on the market, able to last through many hours of use without issues. The only concern I have, and this is an area of improvement that I would like Phenyx Pro to work on, is with the included PWH-12 handheld transmitter. The handling noise is noticeably louder than what we experience with our Shure UHF-R, SLX-D or QLX-D Handhelds. If Phenyx Pro can improve on this aspect with a newer revision handheld transmitter, this system would be the one to beat for all the competition out there. With all of this said, you can reduce or eliminate most of the handling noise with a low-cut filter and gating, though not all sound boards will afford you this ability, so Phenyx Pro really needs to work on improving the handling noise. I just ask that they make a new revision handheld that we can purchase for existing systems. Overall, I highly recommend the Phenyx Pro PTU-2U-1H1B. If you’re in need of a reliable and affordable audio solution, this is it! This system has been used for two different church services and it has worked very well for us. If you're a performer, presenter, speaker, or a weekend DJ, this system is the one to pick for achieving professional-grade audio without the need to spend big $ on the “S” brands of wireless microphones.

When I choose a wireless microphone system, there are 3 things I look for. Audio quality(of course), ease of switching and synching the channels, and True Diversity. The Phenyx Pro PTU-2U-1H1B checks all those boxes. The first thing I noticed was the build quality. This unit is built like a tank! Everything is metal and feels well put together-not a lot of flimsy plastic! The Handheld feels heavy and sturdy. The same thing can be said for the Bodypack. The 2U rack mount Receiver is metal and very sleek with a big display. The volume knobs for each channel are tight and have a quality feel to them. The sound quality really surprised me! The Handheld and the Headset both have a full clear sound. I did a non line-of-sight range test for the Handheld and Lapel/Headset mics. I walked around my house and then went outside through the backyard to the alley. The Handheld Mic performed FLAWLESSLY. The signal remained strong even through walls and outside of the house with no dropouts. The Bodypack mics didn't fare so well. There was multiple dropout while walking through the rooms and outside. I would not recommend the Lapel Mic for video audio recording where you may not have line of sight. The pros for The PTU-2U-1H1B: Good sound quality of the Mics. True Diversity. Auto scan and quick IR synchronization. Half wave antennas. Lock function on the receiver. Easy to read display and battery level indicators on the Mic & Bodypack. Easy inline style battery compartment for quick replacements on the Handheld Mic. Lots of extras included in the box. The cons: Signal dropouts with the Bodypack when not line of sight. No battery indicator on the receiver. The screen on the Handheld is hard to see when using outside.

Works well for budget wireless but if you rack mount it you will need a kit for bringing the antenna to the front
