Alerts are Gone! And my Dome Lights and Horn Chirp Work Again!
This fit my 2008 Silverado. My truck had been parked for several days while I was out of town. When I got back I tried starting it and the battery was dead. So I bought a new battery and it cranked right up. That’s when I noticed my dome light stayed on and the dash display was telling me my right rear passenger door was open. I pulled over and went around to shut it but found it was shut. So I got home and pulled fuse #17 located under the dash by the driver door to interrupt the circuit to my dome light. (Not sure why that one though). I think pulling that one still allowed me to where I could still use the manual dome light by reaching up and pressing it.I didn’t have time to address the issue further, so I continued driving it like that. Then one evening, I began noticing that when I locked my doors my horn wouldn’t chirp to signal that the system was armed. Then, after that I began getting the “driver door open” on the dash panel along with “right rear passenger door open”. I continued driving it like that for a while until I finally had time to research and investigate the problem. A couple of DIY videos later I was here ordering these gadgetries. I ordered one for the right rear passenger and one for the driver door. After work, I removed and replaced the one for driver door. I started the truck, put it in gear and it had eliminated the driver door open alert on the dash panel. But it was still showing right rear passenger door open.I expected that. So, ya, I put the #17 fuse back in anyway and the dome light lit up but it wouldn’t ever go off, so I pulled it back out, and on top of that I had to pull the #5 fuse also because for whatever reason pulling the #17 fuse didn’t kill the dome light like before.. So, I pulled the additional fuse #5 and the dome light went out. I locked the doors and still, no horn chirp. So the next day I did the right rear passenger door. And when I got done I started my truck, put it in gear and the right rear passenger door open message had been eliminated. YES! Then I reinstalled both fuses, #5 and #17. And the dome lights came on, YEAH! I Shut the door, and the dome light went off. Baby baby! I locked the doors and armed the security system and the horn chirp worked also. What! What! She’s got her heart beat back?? Awesome! I stood there to make sure the dome lights went out, which they did. And then I repeated the process a dozen more times or so just to make sure it worked every time. And it did.Great product. The hardest part for me was getting the yellow clip to unsnap from the door handle linkage and to get the new one to snap back on . I think I may have invented a few new curse words while messing with that clip. But have a little patience and you can do it. Don’t force them because they look like they could break. Other than that everything else went fairly smooth. Great item altogether.

WORKS AS IT SHOULD
Works great on my 2008 silverado. Cleared my "rear door open" warning.

Yellow plastic clip will break, but everything else works.
Every single one of these off-brand latches will have a bad yellow plastic clip that holds the outside door handle linkage, not just this brand. All 4 that I've replaced at each door over the last couple of years had had the clip break when you try to snap it closed. Then you have to tie it shut with steel wire. Zip ties may work, but I don't know if that will hold up over time.

Good assembly CHEAP plastic clip
So far the assembly was a true for on 2007 Silverado Crew Cab. Only gripe I have is that the plastic clip for the door release was too small for the rod and snapped. Used old one and worked just fine.
