Close, comfortable shave - with confusing model numbers
First, worth noting is that this is a review of the newer Remington BALDER BOSS head shaver, not the older Balder Pro model. When the razor arrived, there was a rattling sound heard inside the box, so I was concerned that the unit had arrived broken - however, this turned out to be the cleaning brush and small bottle of lubricating oil (more on this shortly). Still, if yours arrives with typical Amazon packaging, I recommend carefully checking the unit to make sure it arrived intact. The first thing noticed was that the label on the razor's box it arrived in said "DESCRIPTION BALDER PRO" instead of "BALDER BOSS" (see photo), so I immediately thought that I had been incorrectly sent the older "Pro" version which I didn't want (after reading numerous reviews concerning build quality issues). Adding to the confusion was that the "MODEL/REF" number on the box's label said "XR7100" which was different from the "XR7120USD" model number on the Amazon page...but the label's SKU did say XR7120USD. So I didn't know which one was correct - and when I tried to look on the Remington website itself to verify, I discovered that the Balder Boss model isn't even mentioned, just the Balder Pro (as it turns out, for some reason Remington keeps info on the Balder Boss on its own separate website with the same URL as the Boss name).I opened the Remington box to check further, and found that - as others here have also mentioned in their reviews - the small bottle of lubricating oil, while sealed, had somehow still leaked all over the inside of the left-hand accessories compartment, soaking through the paper manual and leaving the bottle only about an eighth full. I do wonder if this was due to the unit being bounced around in the box in transit.Adding further to the confusion, the paper manual also said "XR7100" as the model number instead of XR7120USD.The razor itself appeared to be fine, and based on photos I had seen I could visibly confirm that it was indeed the Balder Boss model I wanted. It feels solidly built and not flimsy, and fits very comfortably in my hand.I charged the unit for the full 8 hours the first time per the manual. Note that this unit does NOT come with an actual charger, just a USB charging cable with a proprietary end for the razor itself instead of standard USB (disappointing, as it means needing to get a new cable from Remington if it fails, and can't be replaced with a standard USB cable). So - about the razor itself: I love it! While it doesn't give that mirror-smooth kind of shave you get from a regular razor, I will say that it's dang close. I have thick hair that grows back quickly, but even so: I would say that the Balder Boss provides a very close and comfortable shave that feels like how my scalp feels about 4-5 hours after I shave it with a regular razor, which I feel is impressive.I am dry shaving with the Balder Boss, but I get no skin irritation afterward at all, which is also surprisingly impressive. For me the key is not to try to bear down too hard with the razor and just lightly press it to the scalp, shaving with both straight and circular motions. I also check how my scalp feels with the other hand to make sure I don't miss any spots. I am able to completely shave my scalp in about 3 minutes or less.I've tried the faster Turbo mode, and it works just fine. But honestly I find I'm happy with the shaving closeness with just the standard speed.I've now had the razor for about a month, shaving every 2-3 days, and the original first charge only just today went down to the one remaining flashing bar, which the manual says is the best time to charge the unit (and not after every shave). The razor is super easy to clean after each use, which is great. Simply remove the shaving head, brush both it and the inside of the motor unit (which holds all the cut stubble), thoroughly rinse off both in the sink with warm water and allow to air dry. Per the manual I use the oil (or what's left it....) to lubricate the blades, which is just a simple matter of putting a drop of oil on your finger tip, gently rubbing it into the FRONT of each of the five circular blade unit guards (not the back/inside with the green plastic blade holders), then wiping off the excess and letting it air dry.Worth noting that the XR7120USD model number Balder Boss does NOT come with a storage pouch - which as I'll explain in a moment is important to know. I was able to get a generic one here on Amazon that fits it and its cables just fine. So, I decided to contact Remington via the support form on their website, to ask all of these various questions in hope of getting some clarity about the confusing model names and numbers on the box and paper manual, as well as try to find out about which is the correct replacement head to use for the Balder Boss specifically.I was pleasantly surprised to get a quick response from them the following day, asking if I could send them a photo of the label on the outside of the box - they appeared to be equally confused about the different numbers I saw on the box label, paper manual, and the Amazon website too! I sent them the photo of the box you see here, as well as a screenshot of the model number on the Amazon page.Long story short: while they had no answer as to why the label said "BALDER PRO" instead of "BALDER BOSS" - Remington support said that the only real difference between the "XR7100" and "XR7120USD" is that the XR7100 comes with a storage pouch, while the XR7120USD does not. Otherwise, both are still the actual Balder Boss version, which you can also confirm by seeing that it has a red stripe around the unit above the rubberized grip, has a circular power button (instead of the rounded rectangle power button of of the Balder Pro), has the smaller Turbo button above it, and has 5 white power lights configured in an arc.Remington support also confirmed that the correct replacement head to get for the Balder Boss specifically is the Remington Balder Titanium Replacement Head for Electric Razor (model number SPR-XR7100-T), also available on Amazon...not to be confused with the "Balder Pro Head Rotary Shaver Head Replacement Assembly | SPR-XR7000".All in all, I've been really happy with the close, comfortable, and fast shave I'm getting with the Balder Boss! I hope this additional information I received from Remington support will help clear up any confusion you may have had like I did as well.

I made a Happy Man out of My husband :)
I got this razor for my husband November 2024. It has been a big help. He lost his sight and he could no longer shave the way he did with a regular razor. He always hated electric razors. He has tried a couple in the 44 years we've been married and tossed them. He wanted to be independent and told me to try to order him one. Knowing what he expected out of a razor. I searched and searched and read a bunch of reviews. I came up with this one, thinking I'd have to give it to one of the Sons. To my my surprise he loved it! It is of really good quality. He has dropped it a few times and it keeps on shaving :D It gives him a good smooth shave and it's comfortable for him. It takes the anxiety of cutting himself away. The design is perfect for him to be able to tell where the buttons are. He's Happy with this razor. Thank you for such a great product. I will come back here to get a replacement for sure. If I ever have to :)

Best Head Shaver on the Planet, Makes Shaving Easier & Less Time Consuming
I've been shaving my own head for 8 years and its been great to not have to go to the Barber Shop and waste $20-30 on a haircut, or deal with waiting to get a head shave and sit still in somebody chair for an hour. I like keeping my head bald and my face shaved clean, so shaving myself was the perfect option since I don't worry about getting linings and stuff like that as well.I used some clippers that were made more for face shaving than hair shaving, so about a year after I started shaving I bought the Oster clippers device and it's the only thing that I've been using the last 7 years. They've been good for a long-time, but overtime the process of shaving with them sucks. They've slowly started to breakdown on me and they're not good for my skin as I've created so many ingrown hair bumps on my head and just a few on my face. My bumps bleed a lot, and so when I shave over them with the clippers it's a nightmare. It's really tough to shave on the back of my head because that's where a majority of my bumps lie. Then the clean up process of the hairs all over the sink is a nightmare to cleanup as well. It's just time consuming and I needed a different solution.I watch a lot of late night TV and one of the informercials that keeps showing up is this Remington head shaver and the first few times I was rather amazed, shock, but very cautious as well. I've probably seen this commercial for a good year or two now and stayed on the fence of getting them. Then one day, I decided enough is enough and it's time for a change, so I started to do extensive research on them and finally decided to try them out myself. Boy oh boy was I glad I finally made the switch. This shaver is great and is as advertised, it shaved my face and head so fast. It cuts close too like I wanted, so it feels like my face and head are completely shaved off. It doesn't hurt either as you don't got to worry about stabbing yourself or nicking yourself. It feels like a massager as it cuts very gentle on your face. It cuts rather fast too and for someone who has bumps, when I shaved over them it didn't hurt at all. This is really needed for people with bump problems like myself because when you shave with clippers they will hurt and make them bleed. I no longer have to deal with that now as I can cut any area and not worry. They cut pretty fast too as I usually spend around an hour shaving my face and hair together. It literally took maybe 10 minutes tops, if that long. I don't take any chances, so I still put peroxide over it since it shaves close. I was so thrilled with the results as I hadn't felt like I had a shave cut that close since the last time I visited the Barber Shop, 8 years ago. My old clippers never cut this close before. The cleaning process was easy too, I love how the hair is kept inside of the shaver and you can easily dump it afterwards. That's the best part to me is that it doesn't create a mess when you shave, you might still shed a few hairs and that's it. Hair doesn't fly everywhere, I've yet to use it for manscaping my privates or underarms, but that's gonna be great too. It's 100% waterproof so you can rinse it with water. I still use my Oster cleaner to spray just because of the bumps being contagious. If you're having problems cleaning, you're doing it wrong. Make sure you charge it whenever you can as well. It's portable so you can carry it wherever you go and don't got to worry about it being plugged in. Be sure to wash your hair after every shave.Guys this is device is perfect, don't hesitate if you have the money to purchase, the price is beyond cheap for something this great. There's actually a new one out that I plan on getting within the next year at some point. I'm going to get my moneys worth out of this sucker first.
