For some reason, I avoided buying this thinking I needed something more complicated. Also think the name and branding is pretty awful. This is the thing tho, it's good, very good, very easy and very little to go wrong. It you love it enough, it can float in the hottub and pick it up when you find some grit to get rid of. Saves all that emptying and refilling and everything looks sparkly clean.

I resisted buying a Grit Gitter for twenty years, as they seemed nasty and plastic and very overpriced. Having gone through a couple of other solutions, I finally gave in and bought one.They are, indeed, nasty and plastic and overpriced. But they work better than anything I've used so far, does the job - very practical and easy to store/use. I doubt the construction will last a lifetime, but we'll see. The filter element is particularly flimsy.

Easy to use but the price was way to expensive for the gritter

This is a fantastic bit of kit if you have a hot tub or swimming pool because it picks up the tiny pieces of grit a net or vacuum misses. This is my third over the years. They don't last forever if used a lot because eventually the rubber weakens but it is huge value for money and I regard it as an essential bit of kit.

This product could be great, and does work very well, when it is not falling apart. The collection pod (dark blue bulb) falls off frequently, spilling all the grit collected back into the tub. It is a real shame that the 'design' stopped at the suction mechanism.Really hope the manufacturers/designers change the way the bulb connects to the suction mechanism.

This item won’t connect no matter what we do, multiple people have tried many times and it just won’t stay together. Can’t even get to the stage of collecting any grit because it all just falls apart! Totally useless and a waste of money.

If you follow the instructions (or watch the YouTube videos) it's simple enough to use and it does work to hoover up small debris at the bottom of the hot tub.Any debris is kept inside the bulb and trapped at the filter from re-entering the water. To clean it simply unscrew and rinse down the filter.On the down-side it does seem rather over-priced!Recommended though for a tool that's conveniently small and does the job.
