Every shop needs this
I have (had) another one of these but a very cheap one. This is much better and one of my favorites. The blade had a basic edge on it. I finished sharpening the .126 thick blade, and flattened the back. This took only a few minutes because the basic edge and back were not that bad. I flattened the sole, which not that bad as well. The frog was hard to check, but had good maching marks. The lever cap and screw work well, the blade adjustment fits well in the blade slot and has good adjustable operation. This fits comfortable in the hand. For this price this was a very pleasant surprise. I have some Jacobson clamps and like the build quality of them as well. This is a great tool for a great price.(guess I could have just said that and been done with it 😏)

Great plane for the beginner and perfect out of the box
I am beyond impressed by the quality of this plane, as my first one from Jorgenson. I wasn't expecting much at its price point, was expecting to spend an hour or so flattening the sole and sharpening the blade but all in all it was about 30 minutes of it. Honestly, I probably didn't have to do that, because the blade is sharp, but the factory grind is a bit rough. But all in all easy to set up and go, the action of the adjustment knob is very helpful for this size plane and the added weight is not a problem.

Nicely made but too small for my use case
It is a great little tool but I had to return because it was too small in with. I was shaving done a door that would stick on the frame. It just did not work for the width of the wooden door. I had to use an electric belt sander.

Great, solid little trim plane!
Very small in my hand, rock solid feel, thick, heavy blade, easy to adjust, easy to take apart for honing, cast iron body. I am really surprised at how much I like this little plane, I especially like that it is adjustable like a regular block plane. I have 3 block planes and 2 trim planes and I find myself reaching for this one as often as any of the others. I ran the blade over a strop shortly after I got this plane, no stone, just a strop to make sure it was all cleared up and found very thin, very nice shavings coming off of it very soon there after. I might buy a couple more of these guys.

Very sharp
Let me just say i have been doing carpentry and finnish work my whole life and thats a while. This little plane is perfect for those small deburing jobs, sticky door adjustments and anything in between. You wont want to plane an edge on a 8 foot long piece of poplar with it, thats for sure but when you can have something this small, this sharp in arms length you cant go wrong. The adjusting takes a minute to get use to, obviously its not like the micro adjustments you get on the big boys but its not a deal breaker. I installed a door in december and i knew when the humid weather came there might be some tweaking to do. Well humidity came and this plane did great.

Jorgensen 3.5 inch mini wood plane
This is a cute little thing but it's clearly not a toy. Unlike most planes I've had that required setting the blade carefully (with that single knob that just clamps the blade to the frame) sometimes 3 or 4 times to get the right depth of cut, this little Jorgensen plane has a micro adjustment that allows setting the exact depth. What a good idea! Small planes like this are the only way to deal with small jobs, meaning using small pieces of wood that still need to be smooth and flat at certain angles. I couldn't find my other small plane so I got this 3.5 inch instead (it will probably turn up and then I'll have at least 2 VERY useful small planes.) The blade is very sharp, made with O1 tool steel, nice and thick with a good bevel that will make it easier to sharpen on the diamond hone. I really like the micro adjusting blade, but the rest of the tool looks equally well made and very strong with the malleable iron frame. I take great precautions to never drop a plane since it will probably ruin something and be useless, but this one looks like it would just bounce off the floor and ask "is THAT all you got?"

Great quality plane, good price
This plane works great on small projects. I put a 30 degree bevel on it as suggested by the manufacturer using a very fine Arkansas stone. Works great on acoustic guitar braces and small pieces like that. I am really impressed by the finished quality all of the plane's parts including the primary bevel on the iron. Nice tool. Good price.

Great planer, just right for precision jobs
I used this planer to plane a warped cello fingerboard. It worked perfectly. Other brands sounded iffy, but this one was just right, small, super easy to control, and very adjustable.
