Worth the money!

This does what it is supposed to do. It sharpens my knives very well. I have the wheel that you run your knives over but this rod seems to work much better. And easy to use.

The quality is actually not bad as some of the reviews mentioned. It’s definitely not primary quality as the professional ones but for the price you are paying this is a okay product.

this sharpening steel does have grooves premade in it for sharpening, I was wanting a smooth one as I do not need an aggressive steel. just a smooth one that if I want I can use emery cloth on it to make small grooves.

Hey you !!!! Stop spending your money on high dollar items.We all learn lessons all too often the hard way so here is an 'easy lesson' that can save you lots of money. BUY THIS ITEM BECAUSE......it totally works as good as the expensive rod sharpeners. The part of the handle that would make contact with your kitchen counter when you lay it down is 'squared off' which means it will not roll off or your counter.This rod sharpened my dull knife in about 10-15 strokes and now it slices through a sheet of paper like butter. The length is perfect to run your knife up and down the rod safely. The device is built solid.....I don't see it breaking but, if it does, so what....it's only 5 dollars.Note: If you insist on spending big bucks on a rod sharpener do this for me.... buy this and then send the money you saved to me! That way you'll still feel like you have an expensive rod knife sharpener! :)Would I buy this again? Yes.
