Old school simplicity
This was bought to replace a damaged unit, plugged straight into the original back plate and all good. I considered going all hi-tech wifi remote Startrek style but this model works a treat and would be a bargain at double the price. I'd give it five for ease of use and if you don't want to change the offered programme it's fine but I get bored following the instructions and endlessly prodding buttons is worse than entering details in a tacho first thing in the morning

Easy replacement
I bought this to replace a decade-old thermostat that had started acting up. It was a like-for-like swap, so no wiring or electrical work needed. I pulled the old one off (leaving the original base unit on the wall) and popped this one on. Easy peasy, was up and working within seconds. It comes with a little guidebook to help set up timings, etc. which was appreciated. Tip: pay close attention to where the pins on the bottom right hand corner fit into the unit when you're pulling the original off. I wouldn't have had a clue otherwise where they lined up.

It does what it's supposed to do.
Used as a direct replacement for a mechanical central heating thermostat to automatically control day and night time temperatures. Would have liked 6 time periods but 4 is OK. Installation was easy but setting up time periods and temperatures required trial and error as instruction booklet is tiny and not clear, and even the pictorial instructions on the flap of the device itself appeared to be in a foreign language.. Overall, good value and is now helping to save on fuel bills.

Smart, well made, does the job
This is the standard straightforward replacement for the controller used in caravan Alde heating systems, which was also a Danfoss , branded as Alde. It does the same job as the earlier version, only better, with more functions, and is easier to programme. It is also still battery powered, so removing these over winter, say, is a must. This new version has given the innards more protection from leaking batteries, which was the cause of the demise of my old one. The thermostat is now more sensitive, and reacts to temperature changes more readily. A quality item, ideal for the caravan, but has capability and other functions for domestic use

Disappointed
The unit was delivered in a branded box which had seen better days, leading me to think that it had probably been recycled from an earlier purchase. It was relatively easy to set up, but it was apparent very quickly that it was not displaying anywhere near the correct ambient temperature, without which, it would not operate properly. Henceforth I returned the unit to the supplier, who was unable to provide an alternative unit.

Recommended. Really nice unit.
Lovely little product. Thought it would be a lot larger than my old dial type thermostat but it's not. About the same height and slightly wider. Came already programmed with time, date and 4 events per day on a 5 + 2 day setting. I only needed to make minor changes which was extremely easy with the supplied instructions. Easy to fit. This unit only needs two connections. Live and switched. My old dial type thermostat had four. You wont need a Neutral or Earth for this product so these can be made safe and coiled out of the way. Then connect Live to the "Comm" terminal and the switched to "N/O" and that's all done. Even the screw holes lined up from my old unit. Programmed, fitted and running in less than 30 minutes.Early days for reliability but so far really impressed.

Easy to install
This is an easy to install and use central heating thermostat: simply a matter of inserting two wires into correct bits to install. Factory settings were pretty close to what I wanted anyway so just took a little tweaking. My previous Danfoss stat had lasted almost 25 years so I hope this one does too! All at a good price.

Improved upgrade saving me money
Nice improvement on the old TP5 which has served us well for many years. I upgraded to this as I wanted an adjustable holiday setting rather than the 5degrees fixed setting on TP5. Great! We can go away for a weekend and come back Sunday night without too many complaints about the house being cold and the washing not dried.....but still makes a good saving on heating bills when we're not at home. Lots of fancy programming available if you want to switch it on e.g. no. of cycles per hour which might help if you have a boiler short cycling on its own internal thermostat rather than room stat. Half a star short because ......there is no boost facility. Would be nice to have adjustable time/temp facility for when you come back early on a cold day. If you want it to be more sensitive to external temperatures (i.e. more heat loss) then either mount on an external wall or use option with a remote sensor that can be fitted in such a place. Lost another half star as the initial calibration was about 2 degrees lower than previous TP5. I've corrected this fully using the internal +/- 1.5 degree max available correction. But overall seems to be saving me money - the wife was snuggling under a blanket before anyway!
