Insufficiant battery life/ Company resolved issue.
My kids absolutely loved this but the battery does not last long at all. Charging is fast but just as fast as losing the battery life.Update: company reached out immediately to resolve issue. Amazing customer service and solution! Hassel free. Highly recommend.

Great customer service.
Bought this for my great granddaughter's birthday. No batteries to replace. Charged it for 1 to 1-1/2 hours for a 3 to 5 minute flight time. It also goes rogue, flying to the ceiling and staying there until the battery runs down or you get a broom and hold it next to the sensor to make it come down. Not worth the money.Update: USA Toyz customer service contacted me with an offer to replace the Mini Drone. Great customer service from the supplier.Another update: I received the new drone, and it works much better than the first one. Very happy with the response from customer service.

Skeptical at first..
We've only played with them since Christmas Eve.. 1 day.I am blown away at the amount of fun we have had with these. They are a blast. I might mark them back a little for not having a Micro-usb or USB-C charging capability. It's 2024 for heaven sake... However, many toys I saw this year had odd proprietary USB chargers AND made you remove a battery behind a screw every time you wanted to charge. These chargers at least plug right into the toy making them easy enough. It's hard to take off a star because of the charging connectors because thses are REALLY fun. I've played with a few kinds of drones and these have a decent battery life... Honestly, at $35 ish in 2024 for the two pack drones and one gun... I might be inclined to buy a few more sets. even $19 for one drone is fun.My 5 year old loves shooting them, and my 3 year old was trembling in excitement over these--and also loves shooting them. I bought an extra gun with the 2 pack... I'll probably buy at least 2 more drones... maybe 4.

Unresponsive seller, misleading Q&A, scary battery warnings - but an improvement over prior versions
The seller contacted me by email about my review of the Scout and suggested trying the XL so I bought one. Unfortunately, they've never responded to email or chat since then.UPDATE: Within a few hours of posting this review, the seller contacted me by email, twice. The second response contradicted the first but neither one solved the issue: the XL is apparently pre-programmed to fly at about a 5 foot level, and since my grandson can't reach that high, he won't be able to do anything but watch it fly on its own.Scout XL has several features that make it better than the prior Scout designs: one-button takeoff/landing remote; larger & more flexible cage that doesn't break as quickly; better calibration method and the ability to select a slower flying speed. The biggest hassle remains the battery/charging system, which apparently is unable to switch to trickle charging. The battery/charging warnings are scary [same warnings in online manual for Scout]: you basically have to keep your eye on it whenever it's charging, stop charging as soon as the the red light turns green, don't use it right away, etc. And, it can't be disposed of in the trash when it stops working! I put mine on a smart plug so it's ready to go each morning when my grandson comes down to visit before school. So far, it takes 80 minutes from fully discharged until the green light comes on & they recommend not flying it immediately, so after 5-7 minutes of flying my grandson has to wait at least 1.5 hours before the next few minutes of flying. My bigger concern is the marketing of this drone to "children" and the Q&A statements from the seller such as "You can use this easy mini flying kids drone for children as a stocking stuffer for kids aged 10 years old below and above." The manual clearly states: NOT SAFE FOR USERS UNDER THE AGE OF 14 TO USE. But you can't know that until after the purchase because the manual for the XL is not posted on their web site. When it is fully charged, the Scout XL works well and would be a 5 star toy. But unless you stop flying as soon as the red light comes on, the sensors soon go blind and it flies wildly - running into people, walls, ceilings and everything else in the room. Using the remote to land it is the only way to stop it. My wife and cat are afraid of it...I took off 2 stars for the unresponsive seller, misleading Q&A and the crude battery charging mechanism. But, we're not going to return this one because my 5 YO grandson decided, "It's still a lot of fun when it works!" And he's right.

Stopped working shortly after purchase
Bought this for my toddler who absolutely loved them. Unfortunately not long after purchasing them, the one drone started flying and sticking to the ceiling, and the other stopped catching air to fly and would just fall without ever taking flight. Not eligible for a replacement according to amazon so after I find a replacement myself, if they are still eligible for a return, as much as I hate the process, that's probably what I will need to do. Otherwise this is a really neat toy, and my toddler loved them.
