Compact and Affordable: WiiM Delivers Quality Audio
I was looking for a compact amplifier to fit a small space in our bedroom for music and TV audio. The WiiM streaming amplifier caught my attention with its great reviews and budget-friendly price of under $240. I hadn’t heard of the brand before, but I’m impressed with its solid build quality and performance.Setup was straightforward, especially with the user-friendly WiiM app. The amplifier delivers good sound quality with plenty of bass options, and it has enough power to drive our bookshelf speakers and subwoofer effectively. I’ve streamed music from Apple Music and Amazon Alexa via Bluetooth, and it works flawlessly. While I haven’t tried its multi-room audio feature to broadcast music throughout the house, I’m happy with its audio capabilities for our needs.Overall, this amplifier offers excellent value for money, combining good quality and versatility at a reasonable price.

More versatile than powered (active) speakers
Review:I picked up the Wiim mini amp for $230 during Prime Week and paired it with my ELAC DB62 bookshelf speakers and an SVS subwoofer. This combo easily outperforms pricier integrated setups—like the Klipsch Sevens—delivering better tone, detail, soundstage, and overall value.________________________________________Custom EQ and Subwoofer IntegrationUsing sweep measurements, I crafted custom EQ settings through the Wiim app to dial in the sub perfectly. The bass is tight and controlled—no boom, no mud. Mids are transparent, vocals sound natural, and highs sparkle without harshness.________________________________________Klipsch Sevens: A Frustrating ComparisonMy Klipsch Sevens amp failed within a year. Even after replacing the module, it couldn’t match the Wiim’s precision or reliability. The basic three-band EQ made sub integration a constant struggle. Bluetooth was another issue—slow to reconnect and clunky for quick adjustments. The Wiim reconnects instantly and makes tuning effortless.________________________________________Everyday Use and InterfaceThe Wiim app is intuitive and stable. I’ve built presets for movies, gaming, music, and late-night listening, and switching between them is seamless. Connectivity is rock-solid, and tweaking filters takes seconds. If it ever fails, I’m only out $230—not $1,000 like with proprietary powered speakers.________________________________________Final VerdictThe Wiim mini amp is a clear win over powered speaker setups. It’s compact enough to sit on top of my PC case, saving desk space while delivering serious performance. For anyone running passive speakers and wanting full control over their sound, this amp punches far above its price.Highly recommended.

Media streaming hub
WiiM is a great way to streamline your audio set up with your existing audio equipment.I have Focal bookshelf speakers, TV, turntable and Google/Amazon ecosystem. WiiM has replaced a number of devices that used to connect together my system and do the same job. Less wires and more space!Important factors for me were Ethernet/wifi network access with Google/Amazon account hookup. WiiM is now set up in my Google home as a default "speaker" for my living room and I can ask another device, such as my phone, Google Mini, or any other Google assistant or Alexa enabled device to play my music, which then will be played from WiiM through my bookshelf speakers.I also like that this is a class d amp, which means that it is not consuming energy when not in use and you don't have to power it on or off as it recognizes the input and wakes itself up when needed and goes to sleep afterwards. When I turn my TV on, the WiiM automatically detects the new input and my TV is playing also though my speakers. The sound is great and the equalizer is available in the app if you need to adjust.Set up was easy.I gave 4 stars because for two reasons:1) it didn't work well with hdmi arc output of my TV set. It connects to it and recognizes tv and remote control, but when you turn TV off and then back on, the sound is lost. It might not necessarily be the WiiM 's fault. From my research I understood that, depending on your tv make and model, you might have different experience. I tried many suggested remedies on Reddit and elsewhere, but nothing worked. I ended up with connecting my TV to WiiM via Bluetooth which was easy, but it doesn't give you all the bells and whistles of the modern hi-fi tv experience that some might be really going after these days. I do not know what I am missing and therefore fairly happy with the sound from TV via Bluetooth as a source.2) I contacted WiiM's support regarding HDMI ARC issues and they got back to me right away. After understanding the details of the issue they stopped responding. Not cool. At least they should have said that there is no solution for my issue.Otherwise it is a great device to upgrade your audio set up.
