Q: What is the recommended method to clean this diamond stone?

You can wash it using dishwashing liquid and a scrub pad. The stone won’t rust (any rust that may appear is rusting of the metal particles generated during sharpening, not the diamond stone itself.)

Q: For people that have made the switch from oil or water to diamond...pros and cons?

Pros: it’s always flat. Doesn’t cup or get a groove worn into it. No maintenance. Essentially indestructible. I think waterstones have their place - I’m not hating on them - but that list of pros for diamond stones is 100% accurate in my experience.
