Good quality and robust, easy to fit and good value. Very pleased. Much easier than normal loft ladder when restricted to space - our loft access is in bedroom near a door so this concertina ladder is excellent.

These ladders are more expensive than 3 part aluminium ladders but I had not got the space to swing any other type of ladder into the loft. I remember a friend of mine (some 45 years ago) had a concertina loft ladder and I remember it having a lot of flex in it. This ladder doesn’t and feels sturdy. When you unclip it from its bracket it doesn’t plummet onto your head, you have to pull it down and it will stop how ever far down you pull it but is not overly stiff to pull down. The only very small thing I would say is the instructions say to screw the mounting plate on. For me I have bolted it on. It is a reasonably heavy item. It is not heavy to use once installed. I am impressed with this ladder

Item is all as described and is well made . It was installed by 2 people with little difficulty. One person would have struggled with the weight at some points. It feels sturdy and well fit for purpose especially its width which should mean it would fit all but the most unusually narrow openings. Closed position in loft is notably compact needing almost no clearance. One star down from max is due to delivery delay which was probably not down to BSPS who acted promptly on notification.

I wanted a loft ladder with proper treads and this fulfils the requirement. However, it does wobble a little in use, though does not feel unsafe. It does fold and store into a small area.However, I had to get the larger version due to the drop from loft hatch to floor. It is VERY heavy. Once the loft hatch is down, you first have to push the whole thing up to free it from its hooks. It's a long way up and pushing it vertically upwards is very difficult due to the weight of the thing. (I'm 5'2" tall and slightly built, but can still just about manage.) Pushing it back up has the same issues. It has to be said that the pole provided is not fit for purpose. It is flimsy and the nylon fitting at the top is too feeble and broke very early on. My carpenter, who fitted it, fashioned a much sturdier one with a brass hook. Having spent a fair bit buying it and having it fitted, I'm stuck with it, but would probably have shopped around for something easier to use had I realised that using it is akin to a gym workout. My carpenter wasn't too impressed with it either and has offered to fit an easier one if I can't manage it!
