These look great and do a nice job absorbing sound too.
The samples were really nice, in fact I ended up buying a second set because I found a use for them. I have a couple of network switches that are in my TV console and their fan noise can be a bit annoying but also the switches aren't the nicest thing to look at. We ended up putting these at angles to both allow the air to continue flowing through but to also absorb a lot of the sound created by the fans. So far it's working well and it's much nicer to look at than the back of the network gear. I can imagine an entire wall covered with these could make the acoustics in the room greatly improved.

Just samples so...
Just samples so... they're great? Seriously, they actually give you a goof feel for what the final product is and I was surprised by the construction. I work in television and part of my education and experience is in sound engineering so I know a thing or two about sound reinforcement materials and practices. I am not, however, an expert on the subject so I look forward to other comments and might even seek out an opinion from an expert on these. I really was pleasantly surprised by the construction. The baffling material is quite dense, thick, and robust. The wood slats are not MDF, they are real wood - not that MDF would be bad, per se, it's actually a great material for sound - but because this is architectural and needs to look nice as well as perform nice, IMHO, the use of actual hardwood is nice to see. Plus, when I think about it, narrow fluting of MDF would just not hold up most likely. I am, in fact, looking for material to use in my existing Atmos home theatre for an upcoming renovation I have planned. I was going to try and make panels just like these but now I'm seriously considering this product specifically because of how much they impressed me. I do have other samples coming so I'm curious to see how they compare and will report back in this review if it's worthwhile to do so. One thing I wish they would have included was more detailed information on installation with these samples.

Small Sample Wall Wood Panel.
These are pretty small samples and two are very close in color, so you really need to imagine the area and if that will look good with your decor. At least though, you have a chance to feel and see up close the material.

Walnut not really walnut
Love the samples however I’m glad I got this before spending on the real deal as the “dark walnut” isn’t even walnut it’s more like a grey color.

Invaluable sample pack before a purchase
I think it's crucial to see this sample first if you are considering using this product. It's thicker than your'd think, so it may dwarf existing wood trim on your walls. It's also different in color than I expected. The oak is a little lighter than other golden oak items I own. And the grey color is only slightly different than the dark wood color. The product has a fiber backing with engineered wood strips stapled to it. Only the top surface is laminated with a wood grain look. It doesn't feel treated, so I may attempt to stain it. The sides and edges are stained dark, so if you have any exposed ends cuts, you'll likely want to top it off with trim pieces. It should be easy enough to cut the banking fabric. I'm not sure how to tackle complex cuts through the wood and backing material (to fit around, say a window sill). Since each sample piece is only 5x6 inches, you have to go easy on with testing so you don't ruin the usability of the sample. I noticed you can line up end cuts from one sample block to another pretty easily. I can feel that they don't like up perfectly, but my eyes can barely tell there is a seem. I will need extended length runs. It looks like I could add them together and plan my cuts so they aren't where the eye naturally falls (I'll hide them off center). The product quality looks nice as is though and I don't think it will be very difficult to work with full sized pieces.

colors are beautiful
loved this sample pack, the three colors were stark enough to easily tell apart for the color i want in my studio. the sound absorption is hard to test but seems to be fine
