NEED TO PAIR WITH TV FIRST
I had a bad review written because this thing was slow and unresponsive and the voice control didnt work. Then I realized that someone else in my house opened the package and started using the remote without pairing it. Thats why it was working like an old IR remote that has to be perfectly pointed at the TV. Once you go into bluetooth settings on your TV and pair the new remote, it works like magic, just as good as the old one. Voice control works, and the buttons react very quickly even if not pointed at the TV.

Great Dupe!
Our new puppy ate our Sony TV remote. Bought this 2 pack and they worked with our TV straight out of the box. No programing required. Unfortunately, our puppy enjoyed chewing on these too. Purchaed again and and am still happy with how well they work!

Works exactly like the original! UPDATE! It stopped working after 1 month.
I love my new Sony Bravia 8 TV! And think it's the best TV I've own thus far. With my family always dropping things and misplacing them around the house, I wanted to keep a spare remote for the new TV and I found what seems to be almost exactly the same as the OEM remote. Every button on this replacement remote works with no re-learning procedure to be done. Some buttons are different from the original remote, but I don't find them critical to have. The remote comes in the same size and weight as the factory remote, except that they added texture to the plastic that it is more easier to hold. The buttons are taut and firm, but will be easier to push as time and wear takes effect. UPDATE! Run as far as possible from this brand OGILLY, I initially selected this remote being an AMAZON CHOICE, but it stopped working after a little over a month of normal use. Not worth $20. I don't recommend it.

Missing a bit of functionality over the OEM remote but works fine
This does not have the steel front panel that the original OEM Sony remote does, and it has no backlight either. I read a few reviews where it said that the Google voice assistant doesn't work on the range is very poor. This happens when you don't fully pair the remote in the Google TV app. The remote comes paired to the TV already, but that's only on IR not Bluetooth, and for the Google assistant to work, the remote needs to be correctly paired with Bluetooth, just as you would pair the original TV remote. Aside from the fact that it's all plastic and no metal, and that it doesn't have a backlight, it does everything the original remote does, and instead of a Bravia button, employs a YouTube button which is for me more useful anyway. By the way, for the exact same money you can buy an original Sony remote from the Amazon refurbished program. The refurbished remote generally performs even better than a new one as it must undergo more testing than new remotes. It's completely refurbished from top to bottom so it looks and feels exactly as a new one.

Decent replacement
I'm not sure if the remote is manufactured by Sony but it's fine for the most part. If I recall correctly the original remote was bluetooth (or whatever accomplishes this) and you didn't need to point it at the TV as a result. This one seems to be the same way but I've definitely had it to where obstructions caused it to not change the channel, etc. I got frustrated with that the other day. It works mostly well though. I may return it and buy one I'm certain is Sony but I also may be too lazy and not. Otherwise, pretty sure the exact buttons as the original OEM remote.

Works fine but TV reports issues with remote
TV keeps asking for a software update for the remote that can not be installed. TV also reports wrongly low battery level on the remote. Only replaces remotes with exactly the same key arrangement. Other than that all controls works fine.

Works great, inexpensive alternative
My son lost our OEM remote in the couch. We needed a replacement, this has done the job. As some reviews mention, make sure to set up the remote so you can use the voice controls. I found the original remote a month ago, but we typically use this remote instead.

Overall not as good as the original Sony changer as buttons are difficult to use as you need to press them in the right place. Also there is no button for Teletext.
