Update: 19th April 2023----------A representative from ESR reached out to me about 2 weeks ago now to follow up on this review. After a bit of back and forth over email, it transpires that ESR recommends the Halolock ring be fitted to a case and not directly to the back of a phone, especially a phone that has a glass back as there is an increased likelihood of the adhesive not sticking as expected.While the instructions in the box for the HaloLock rings show a picture of the ring being fitted to the back of a case, it doesn't specifically state that the ring should not be attached to the back of a phone (in my case an iPhone with a glass back).My suggestion to ESR would be to consider adding some text/clarification on this point to avoid anyone else experiencing this issue.To ESR's credit, they sent out a new silicon case for my iPhone XR *and* a replacement pack of HaloLock rings for me to try again. So far, the ring seems to be staying put on the silicon case however, I'm keeping an open mind for now as I've not completed a full wireless charge with the replacement yet.I'll update this review again after a few more charges have been completed. For now, I'm updating my review to 5 stars due to the level of support I've received from ESR. It's so nice to have a company stand behind its products in this way and be seen to make every effort in ensuring that the customer is satisfied with both their purchase and experience of using the product.Shout out to Theresa at ESR for the support, it's been a pleasure dealing with you and this experience has been a welcome change to the normal experience of buying products like this online.Original review----------I bought this to use with my iPhone XR and a Belkin 3-in-1 Wireless Magsafe charger. I got tired of having to have multiple chargers on my desk for my phone, AirPods and watch. The fast charge puck for my Watch convinced me to give the Belkin charger a go and I liked the idea of having one charger, and one cable to charge three devices at once.Conceptually, the ESR Halolock system is an elegant implementation of Apple's MagSafe technology. The kit I got has two rings included which I thought was reasonable.Initial impressions were very good, I opted to fit the ring to the back of my iPhone XR which was easy to do using the supplied tools (an alignment clip with a lightning and a USB-C style connector along with two plastic sheet templates one for Android phones and another for iPhones).Alcohol wipes are included to clean the surface of the device you're attaching the ring to, which I used. With the ring applied, it seemed to do the job very nicely, the phone registered a charge and the hold on the Belkin dock was firm and steady.However, I discovered an unfortunate issue with these rings and I'm not sure that it can be resolved easily. As the phone charges it, it creates a certain amount of heat, and what I've observed since using this kit is that the heat is sufficient enough to warm the adhesive to the point where the iPhone will start to slide imperceptibly on the ring as it's charging. In addition, because the Phone moves and not the ring, it causes the wireless charger to get out of alignment which creates even more heat. Eventually, the iPhone XR will shut down the charging circuit if the heat level remains too high to protect the battery.I wanted to like this product, as it seemed like the best solution to add a MagSafe like capability to a non-MagSafe iPhone which would ideally extend the life of an old but still very capable iPhone. In my experience however, using it with the Belkin 3-in-1 desktop charger, this is not a good fit due to the way that the Belkin holds the phone.The Halolock will work fine with a MagSafe puck if laid flat on a desk or surface, but if that's all you're looking for, MagSafe wouldn't be your only option.

When I discovered MagSafe charger packs I was disappointed that it appeared only iPhone had MagSafe capability.This changes all that and I have successfully added one of these to the case for my Galaxy S21.The pack includes a brilliantly simple fitting template that is calibrated for a variety of Samsung phones in such a way that it places it in the correct location even allowing for the end thickness of the case.Note the the ring must be glued to the OUTSIDE of the case, so it does protrude slightly but the adhesive is very strong and this minimal protrusion is not a problem, in my view. It may obstruct the case's optional folding prop, but I never use my prop anyway.If your case has a raised surround around the lenses, you may find that this restricts the placement of larger MagSafe accessories such as charger packs, depending on the phone. But that is a problem with the case, not the ring.

Brilliant product

Added magsafe to non magsafe wireless charger. Good adhesive and magnetic strength. Easy to install. Came with guides for iPhone and Samsung phones but I had no use for them.

Bought the black version of these a little over a year ago so and fairly happy so decided to try the white ones when I replaced my case.Unfortunately the guide that came with these was off ever so slightly which wasn’t obvious until the ring was stuck. Removing is impossible without leaving the black adhesive behind ruining the case :(It works relatively well with MagSafe charger.

I have a couple of ultra thin cases for my iPhone 14 Pro Max which I like the feel of however they don’t have the MagSafe magnets attached which makes them pretty much incompatible with most things (wallets etc) unless you’re laying the device flat so I went on the hunt for some MagSafe rings and came across these, I’ve used ESR products in the past and never been disappointed but sometimes forget about them as a go to however they always step up to the challenge with some out of box thinking (I’m about to order one of their air vent MagSafe car chargers!) so I am pleased when they appear in the search results.Back to the product… unlike the other version they make these have the downward magnet in addition to the ring - if you’re using them purely for charger attachment then you probably won’t miss it but with a wallet attachment it secures it in place and stops it spinning round. I ordered a pack of black and a pack of white to suit the colour of the cases (maybe some additional colour options could be available given these are installed on the outside of the case?). The included tool made it really easy - push the alignment clip into the charging port, push on the guide and then stick the ring onto the case. There’s cleaning wipes included in the pack to remove oils, dust etc from the case first. They look great and do the job perfectly well. To improve the product further, maybe packs that don’t include the alignment clip (to reduce plastic waste) and some additional colour options for those who want the ring to more closely match their case or phone colour.

Before I had MagSafe case it was ok but I had to upgrade my case so that I can use lenses with my iPhone which meant had no MagSafe so I had to purchase this and it works perfectly plus the magnet is quite strong more stronger than the ones that come with a case. Well impressed and very easy to install with the template.

You can't really take an old one off and move it to a new case but that's fine. The magsafe strength is great. They have never come off, and are just great
