Nice piece of equipment
Works great. Cable comes with plastic end coverings that stay attached to the cord, so they don’t get lost.

Works Beautifully; Cheaper Ones Did Not
Until a week ago I had an old premium Vizio from 2006, Bose surround sound speakers from 2004, and a Pioneer receiver from the ‘90s—which, importantly, does not have an HDMI port—all to which I needed to tether my new fangled AppleTV 4K, which lacks an optical audio port. The receiver has two. I’ve learned that jerry-rigging old tech together requires the best quality tethers, and this was no exception. After trial and error with HDMI splitters, I went for best quality of that (after much research, I wound up with, and highly recommend, the J-Tech Digital one—1 HDMI port in (from the AppleTV), 1 optical audio and 1 HDMI ports out (to the receiver and tv, respectively)), and the BlueRigger optical audio cable, which I had purchased years earlier for a different but similar setup. (Since I’m brand name dropping, for completion, the HDMI cables are Amazon Basics.) Worked beautifully. (And works beautifully—read on to find out why!) I bought this particular BlueRigger optical audio cable after buying an HDTV Antenna (MOHU Leaf Supreme Pro), which got me 50 (!) over-the-air stations in HD(!) (“!” because a month ago I didn’t know these things existed), and I was going to use the optical audio cable to pump the sound from the antenna to the external speakers, but my poor 18-year-old Vizio wasn’t having it and kicked the bucket. R.I.P., Vizio. … Turns out this idea wouldn’t have worked anyway but I think I have I digressed enough … My first BlueRigger optical audio cable now brings the sound from my new fangled LG C3 tv directly to my 1990s receiver and my Bose surround sound from the early aughts lives on. I want to note, and this is the point of the review—if you’ve read down this far, congratulations and thank you—that I went through three optical audio cables made by other brands that either didn’t work at all or bit the dust after a few months. The brands were well-known ones. I thought I was buying good quality, but based on name only. I researched extensively what makes one good quality optical audio cable. This brand and type checked all the boxes. It is going strong after four years. This *particular* BlueRigger optical audio cable is being returned since the AppleTV and antenna are connected to the tv, and only one optical audio cable is needed to pump the sound through the receiver, and the older one is longer/is the size I need. The new one, under which I’m writing this review, appears at least as high quality as the old one. I feel confident that it is. Happy tethering!
