Perfect thickness and very durable.

The drawstring cord is thick and flat. The white is white. I really like it. The only thing that surprised me was that the 3/4" width is actually 1/2 inch. It says 3/4 inch on the package. It makes me wonder about the 1/2-inch—whether it is really 1/2-inch. They may measure it differently, like construction departments, the way they measure their wood.

I needed to replace some drawstrings on some linen pants and because I didn't sew the pants, I didn't have extra fabric to make drawstrings. This roll of drawstring has made several drawstrings for a few pairs of pants. Plus, I'm planning on dyeing a couple pairs of these pants and this drawstring says it's all cotton so it should take the dye as well (we'll see; if not, I'll update). Because the drawstring is woven of multiple strands, it will unravel at the cut ends; I tied knots at the ends and they are holding just fine. If I were sewing a number of items in the same color, I would buy this drawstring in a matching color. That's a nice option. The drawstring is about as stiff as a cotton shoelace, and it ties well. Because I didn't have to throw out the pants whose drawstrings died, I consider this product to be a win. 20 yards for one low price is a good deal.
