My 9 year old has been creating his own comics on notebook paper, so I was excited when I found this book that will give him some more ideas for layout, story flow, etc. For $5, he gets a simple book he can play around with his comic ideas in, and I won't care if he goes through pages like a fiend. Others have commented that the cover seems overly simple or the pages are somewhat see-through - I think it's a perfect beginner or idea/sketch notebook and again, the price is just right for that. My 7 year old now wants a book too, as well as my 30 year old sister!

I bought this for my 5 year olds Easter basket and he has been drawing in it every single day! He loves making up his own stories on each page and drawing out his favorite characters! I always want to encourage my kids to work creatively with art kits, sketchbooks, etc. and this book is by far the most loved art product I’ve bought my kids so far!

This is the second one that I've bought for my 10 year old son. He loves drawing his own comics and he's gotten better and better over the years. I will continue to buy these and keep them forever.

This is a great idea, but I wish it were perforated. My son loves to draw comics but, like most 9 year olds, lacks the ability to plan out the entire thing in advance, so it would be nice to be able to easily remove the unwanted pages without damaging the book.

Our kids are into drawing right now, and inspired by graphic novels, they are writing their own stories. This book invites kids to write more, and play with ideas more because it makes their work product look much more familiar. It's a great gift for anyone who writes cartoons. Highly recommended.

Very much what it says it is. I don't have kids, so I'm not sure whether or not it would be a good book for creating comics stories, but I'm sure, to a certain extent, it would work - especially to get them to think about the visual "language" of the medium. Panels might be a little small to render much detail, but again, no real big deal for the little ones. I'm an aspiring comics writer, so I actually use it to create basic "thumbnail" sketches for artists. While there are only about 5 separate formats, they're very useful and the variety works. Plus, it's only five bucks, and a decent sketch pad will run you about that.

Completely blank book with no random air bubbles. My oldest looked at others but didn’t like that aspect. This is one of the few I could find that didn’t have it. Exactly what we were looking for!

This was totally blank which I liked, I saw other that had typical comic book sayings added already and it wasn't what I wanted. There's a lot of pages so my son can make each story as long or short as he wishes.

My son loves drawing comic strips so this was an ideal stocking filler. Lots of different layouts on the pages.

I bought one for my 6 year old and one for my 10 year old and they both love this item. The pages are thick.
