Excellent Electric Mower
I was fortunate enough to have been able to purchase this mower with 6-amp hour and 4-amp hour batteries include. Also included in the package was a rapid charger. That particular package, on sale, was a great value. The rapid charger was a huge plus as it does a very nice job of charging the batteries quickly. The charger continues to run a cooling fan after the battery is charged but does not overcharge the battery so it can be left unattended on the shop bench. The description highlights a few things: UP TO 80 MINUTES OF RUNTIME - Get up to 80 minutes of runtime on a single charge from this battery lawnmower with the included 56V 4.0Ah and 6.0Ah batteries; compatible with all EGO 56V ARC Lithium batteries. This description is accurate enough... but I thought I would share my experience with you. UP TO 80 minutes of runtime applies to the use of both batteries with no load on the motor. It is important to understand that the batteries can't last that long under working loads. The length and thickness of the grass adds resistance/load to the blade's rotation. The self-propelled drive train is also a load that varies with the thickness and height of the turf. I fully charged the batteries before mowing my yard. The yard really needed to be mowed so I didn't set the deck very low. I used the #4 setting. The 6Ah battery ran strong for forty minutes before stopping dead. Fortunately, the 4Ah battery was also fully charged and I was able to finish the yard with power to spare. My yard is approximately 10,000 sq. ft. so the 6Ah battery may well be all you need for a smaller yard. The second battery is nice to have and compatible with their edgers and string trimmers so that is a plus.EXCEEDS POWER OF GAS - This is my first electric mower. I have used gas powered mowers for sixty years. A sharp blade makes a significant difference. To keep things fare I sharpened the Ego blade before beginning. It had a decent edge on it from the factory, so it really didn't need very much attention. I mulch my grass so that plays a role as well. I can't say that the Ego blade does as nice a job as a sharp power mower mulching blade. My power mower blade had high and low sharp edges and wing tips to lift the clippings. The Ego blade has wing tips but only the lower blade edge is sharp, but the Ego blade did a very nice job of cutting and mulching. I am happy with the performance, but the grass isn't quite as even as my old power mower left it. The motor didn't seem to slow down under load or in gear. Torque seems constant right up until the battery gives out.TOUCH DRIVE SELF-PROPELLED TECHNOLOGY - Works well. I couldn't find an ideal speed for myself though. One click up from what seemed just a little too slow was just a little too fast. That isn't a big deal. A little slower does a better job of mulching grass anyhow. The size of the mower is great for the average yard. A 21" width of cut works for me. The handle is collapse able and the mower can be stood up on end to save space in the garage. That is a plus. That also makes it easy to clean out clippings under the deck.

Excellent Lawn mower. Impressive But plastic wheels.
Very good mower. Some user suggestions. The first main one is do not set the mowers Drive system to high speed. it can move trust me. It is self propelled. I turned mine off and just push the mower by hand. So far the cut is good with the pre attached blades. Though the box came quite beat up. All parts inside were undamaged. You will also get 2 more blades with this model. A bagger and frame for the bagger The mulching block is pre installed just lift the back hatch and pull it out to install the blower chute. Make sure to pre charge the batteries all the way before first use. Also with this model of EGO mower you must fully extend the handle and clamp it into place before the mower will start. Insert the battery after you have extended the handle. And clamped it down. Its a very smooth working mower. and I recommend that you raise the setting on the first cut to be sure the mower can handle the grass length. For the first time you use it and test out what height over time you plan to cut at. This mower is quieter than other Battery operated mowers. But its blades move way faster. So it will cut well. Now As I have so far seen in my pre look over on the mower. it can get complicated to change it wheels. so pay close attention to those over time. the wheels are majority plastic and we all know what happens to that after a year or so. Especially wheels. My other battery operated mower had metal wheels and those are still working Factory installed. Never replaced. I have never been a major fan of self propelled anything. So I will likely never use this feature. I can tell you the high setting on the mower is fast. So plan for that and start slow. There is a rotating wheel on the handle which can easily be bumped. I keep mine in the off position. The LED lights are also a gift on this mower. as most mowers have less than adequate lighting on them. This one is very good I would like to add. the lights as always could be brighter or just more of them. But the lighting is good. You can also buy a cover for this mower. I would suggest this for those people who do not have any sort of inside storage for their mower. This will help protect the plastic housing of the mower from sun damage over time. And over the winter months if it must be left outside. NOTE that if you do not use the self propel feature the cut time on the battery will be longer. The same is true of the use of the LED lights. The mower has some weight to it. but it is not as heavy a many other mowers. Do not leave the battery in the mower after use. This kit also came with a phone holder that clicks on to the handle. This is a good idea as I like to listen to music when I cut. Whoever thought of that is a genius. If taken care of a mower like this will last longer than 10 years.

I'm impressed
I have about an acre of lawn with between my front and back yard with thick Missouri grass (and weeds). I just moved into my first house and... long story short.. buying a zero turn would be a big hit for me. Naturally, I started looking for a gas push mower and was stunned to see the price tags on those as well. At that price you might as well just buy the zero turn. After checking out reviews on this EGO mower I figured I'd give it a shot and at half the price of brand name gas mowers, I figured what the heck. Day one. Setup and operation was super easy. The grass was knee high and by the end of my mowing session I was contemplating my decision. It took me 6 batteries worth to get it all mowed and 3 hours later....Fast forward to a week later (today). I had my batteries pre charged and was expecting to use around 4 batteries. That didn't happen! I was surprised to find it only took me 1.75 batteries to mow my entire front and back yard. This time, unlike my first mow, I used the self propelled feature and did zero manual pushing. I should also add that I don't let my batteries go completely dry. After researching I've found that it's suggested to take the battery down to %20 before slapping it on the charger. So that's what I did.Note: my mower came with 2 batteries and while mowing on battery 1 (with the backup battery charging), I noticed by the time battery 1 is dead, battery 2 is just finishing up charging (or within 10 minutes).Only time will tell with this mower but I'm %100 satisfied as of now. Don't judge the first mow! That being said I'm very interested in the EGO Zero Turn mower (when the budget permits). But as of now I strongly suggest purchasing this "push" mower if youre on the fence.
