MoKo vs. Fintie origami case comparison
I recently bought the pricey new 9th generation (waterproof) Oasis and immediately noticed how difficult it is to carry safely. The oversized square shape combines with the slick surfaces to produce a device that seems designed for drops. The Oasis really demands a good case.Fintie came out with an origami case first so I used it for a few weeks until a hard drop knocked a couple of chips out of one edge (Oasis was undamaged.) I decided to try a MoKo case for comparison. The Oasis fits snugly in both cases and there are lots of similarities. The edges and all-important corners are protected by hard wrap-around plastic. The well-made cases are lightweight and slim, adding little bulk. The MoKo is microscopically lighter. The lid folds relatively flush with the screen surface and edges, and the Oasis turns "on" and "off" when the lid opens or closes. Both the power button and USB charging socket are easily accessible.I particularly like that these cases allow reading in any position: horizontal or vertical, even "upside down" or with the cover folded flat, though the MoKo has one problem addressed below. The interior is lined with a soft velvety material to keep your expensive new e-reader looking new.--MoKo/Fintie differences--The Moko cover material is more attractive than the plastic-looking Fintie cover, though both are nice and rugged. The MoKo hinge is slightly more supportive than the Fintie version. But my MoKo magnetic origami case loosely collapses when I try to stand the reader with the controls on the left. The magnetic cover is not quite strong enough to support the Oasis.Furthermore, while the MoKo lining is quite nice-looking when new, it absorbs oils and develops splotches after a couple of weeks. The interior lining of the Fintie is better in this regard. These are minor quibbles, but I'm gong to ding the MoKo case one star for the collapsing cover (in one position) and blotchy interior with time.

The previous generation Oasis came with a cover, this is the cover that should have come with this generation Oasis
I'm not a cover person but I doze off reading after lunch and I have been dropping my Oasis more frequently as of late. Decided I needed a cover and while this had only limited reviews they tended to be positive. I was surprised when I unpacked it, from some of the comments I expected something that looked cheap/like it cost $14.99(the price on Amazon as of 10/13/18) and found that not to be my judgement. The back and sides are one piece, injection molded plastic thick enough so that it would take more than a short fall to have a chance of damaging it from a back or side impact. The front is more of a question as the stock Kindle's sides protrude forward very slightly from the screen/bezel area just enough to protect it from a full impact on the glass. The MoKo cover's sides only extend as far as the Kindle sides where a bit more extension would increase its crash proofing(IMHO) but this would be at some loss in comfort so like most of life its a tradeoff and only time will tell. It has a quality look and feel to it, the front and back have fake leather covers (insert on the back, laminated to a soft micro fiber/velour type fabric for the front). It looks and feels almost as good as the (real?) leather cover that came standard with my previous generation Oasis. The bare 9th gen Oasis is very smooth metal and easy to drop where this case is slightly grippier closed, but when the cover is flipped back in reading mode the microfiber is very resistant to sliding especially if its resting on other fabric such as a chair arm or in my lap. I found that if I put one finger under the folded over flap with the others resting on the flap's back it gives a mild squeezing effect that results in a more secure grip and should cut accidental drops from my dozing off to a minimum. The built in magnet closes the cover with a audible snap, holds firmly and will protect it adequately when tossed in a purse or back pack. When the cover is folded open against the back of the Kindle the magnet also holds it in place although not as firmly as it holds it close but it does not flap around. Anther reviewer reported that the flap does not hold when folded open against the back, they may have had a defective unit or the cover may have received an upgrade, regardless my cover holds and stays open firmly..My reading is broken up into small time increments scattered thru the day and I had forgotten how nice it is to have a cover that automatically turns it on whenever I open it. Its more convenient than feeling for the on switch and finding I have grabbed the wrong end of the Oasis and have to flip it over. A little thing but for me it a plus when I do it 15 or 20 times a day. Another plus is that the cover's folds are asymmetrical so that I can only stand it up so that the switch is on the top right, easy to reach and the stand sits firmly so pressing the button doesn't cause it to wiggle or fold up.The stand only has one angle it can hold the reader at, but when set up at that angle it holds its shape so that I can pick it up and move it without it collapsing while other stands that have several different angles they can be set at look like they would fold up when you lift them. Again a small point but I move from sitting to a standing desk frequently, so little things continue to add up.For some uses such as reading in bed while laying on my back a coverless Kindle is lighter and easier to handle without a cover to get in the way-this case fits very precisely and is snug but can be removed or put back on with minimal effort. The case does add to the bulk but overall it makes the unit more impressive/attractive and feels better in my hand. My search is done, I will continue to purchase a MoKo case for my future Kindles.

Disappointed at quality of product
I received the product and noticed that the inside of the case had indented dots on the inside in the middle of both the back and front cover. The back inside also had what looked to be a black pen mark. Extremely disappointed that I seemed to have received a damaged product right out of the package. In addition upon testing the case, I realized that the kindle didn’t fit very well in the case. The bottom of the kindle fit snuggly in, by the top doesn’t go all the way in. It is slightly popped out and does not go all the way into the case. The only positive to the case is that the fold of the cover does allow the kindle to stand vertically on a flat surface.Would not buy again and would not recommend it.Update: 4 months in and two corners of the case is chipped. I have not dropped my kindle once. These chipped edges occurred with daily routine use of my kindle. Poor quality.

Returned mine as it was 1 ounce heavier than advertised.
This was advertised at 4.5 oz but I weighed this in a kitchen scale and found it to weigh 5.5 oz. In my opinion, the slightest added weight would cause discomfort over usage time. Otherwise, this is a solidly built case for the Kindle Oasis.

Good for price but some durability issues.
This case has been great since I purchased my kindle up until about a month ago.while it does everything it is advertised to, I have noticed the particular edges have been chipping increasingly (pictures provided) with one corner recently breaking off a large piece of plastic.I do not handle my kindle oasis roughly as it was a relatively expensive purchase, it usually stats in my backpack until I use it or under my pillow in bed so I can read before bed.Fix this durability issue and I would gladly give 5 stars.

Plastic started crumbling almost immediately
UPDATE: As with other people's experiences, BSCstore immediately shipped a replacement case. It will remain to be seen if the brittle plastic issue happens with the replacement, but the customer service was stellar. I will revise my star rating in the months to come if this case doesn't crumble.ORIGINAL REVIEW: This Kindle has never been outside of my bedroom, it has never been taken out of the case, has never been dropped, has never been bumped around, and has never been exposed to anything other than room temperature. Yet less than a month after I received this case, the hard plastic part (that the Kindle sits in) started crumbling at all four corners. Pieces come off it even just holding it and reading. The pieces break off usually in tiny shards, making it look like some animal has been nibbling on the case and making the edges sharp and uncomfortable to the touch. I don't know why the plastic is brittle and crumbling on a brand-new case but I resent that I spent money on it.Generously giving it a second star because the leather part looks nice and articulates well, but the reviews on this item are hardly an accurate representation of the quality I received.
