I've been using this soap, and ONLY this soap, for 25+ years. It smells better and works better than any store brand I've ever used. It doesn't dry out the skin. It doesn't have that weird "eau du chemicals" scent that a lot of soaps have. A 10-pack will last a couple years. Buy this, and gift some to friends and family.

Chandrika Ayurvedic Soap is one of life's simple, 'old-time' pleasures. It has an indescribable floral scent that takes one back to Yoga classes in the 70s. You really have to try it to discern whether it's right for your skin; it can possibly be a bit drying and is good for 'oily skin', but as I don't suffer from 'dry skin' I don't know how those folks would fare with it. You feel really clean after showering with Chandrika Ayurvedic Soap!I believe this is a traditional, maybe even ancient, type of soap from India that uses Ayurvedic herbs in its formula. It does not appear to have changed at all in the approximately 50 years I have been using it.The bars are quite long-lasting; if you let it dry out in direct sun after the first use it will harden and last even longer!This Chandrika Ayurvedic Soap, plus Pears Original Transparent soap, and Dr Bronner's Peppermint Castile soap are the only soaps I use!When I say "If you don't know, you don't know..." I refer to a product that I have used my entire life (70 years), and which you might too!

I found this soap in some shop about 25 years ago and bought two bars, one for me and one for my mom. I loved the smell and it really seemed to help my skin, but I never saw it sold anywhere again and eventually forgot about it. Fast-forward to a few days ago. My mom recently passed away and I was clearing out her house. I found the unopened bar of soap I bought for her and decided to try it again. It was NOT dried out or powdery or anything. It was good as new. I forgot just how nice it smells and it leaves that smell on your skin. I also tried it today as a shaving soap and I was extremely impressed. It lathers very well, even in hard water. It helps my razor just glide across my face, giving me an incredibly close shave without nicks or irritation. And my face feels and looks healthier. And, of course, I smell great so no need for aftershave lotion. I also use it as shampoo.This soap is great and buying in the 10-pack is great value for the money. I would highly recommend this great soap to anyone looking for a soap made entirely of vegetable ingredients (no animal tallow) and one that smells great. It does help hydrate the skin and works incredibly well as a shaving soap. I love this soap and this is the best deal for it that I've found.

I love the way this soap smells and feels. My boyfriend turned me onto this soap and I've stocked up in case there is a price increase in the future. I'd show you photos of me using it in the shower but I would have to blur the good parts.
