Great Spin-Down Filter With Minimal Pressure Drop
I installed the Waterdrop Mega Spin Down Sediment Filter on my whole-house system, and so far it has been working perfectly. The build quality feels solid, installation was straightforward, and the dual 50-micron + 100-micron filtration is a nice upgrade from my old setup. What impressed me most is that there’s almost no noticeable pressure drop — the water pressure before and after the filter is essentially the same, which isn’t always the case with sediment filters. The reusable design and easy backwashing are added bonuses that should make long-term maintenance simple. Overall, I have no complaints. This filter performs well, keeps sediment out of the system, and maintains strong water flow. Highly recommended.

Efficicent, an easy install, and comforting to know that I am getting positive results
What a wonderful piece of equipment. An easy install by my Handyman! Very efficient, and I am already getting positive results. I would appreciate another copy of the instruction booklet as the original got lost.

Good quality. Poor mount design and poor wrench to change filter.
Build quality is very good. Kit includes fittings to adapt it to both 1" and 3/4" Pex adapters. Only complaint is the mounting bracket is not very well designed and it makes it very difficult to use the included wrench to unscrew the filter mounting ring. I am a fairly skilled mechanic and I can't do it without removing the filter from the wall mount and putting it on a work bench. That means I will have to use push fittings for the PEX input and output so I can change filters. I wonder if they included the wrong wrench. It rally sucks. Everything else is very good.

Works great but you need to add some extra Teflon tape and seals so it doesn't leak
Works great. However, during the install I had to add some Teflon tape to the threads of the main caster plus the threads of the inlet and outlets. There's also silicone washers you need to use on the inlets and outlets else it will leak. They are included, however the directions do not show those in the diagrams. Other than that, once we got the leaks under control it's been working great. It's a lot bigger than it looks in the pictures.

Product support doesn't listen, they suggested I call a plumber-- RESOLVED
Filter is solid and appears to be built well. Installation was straight-forward. Like other reviews have mentioned, the wall mounting bracket will support the filter, but not hold it in place. I went to change the filter cartridge for the first time (after about 6 weeks), but when I moved the top control to "Off", I still had flow from the filter bowl. I tried several times, but couldn't get the flow stopped. The valve handle moved smoothly and gave no indication of problems. I contacted Waterdrop support and they told me to service the valve or call a plumber. They also sent a nice video of how to open the filter housing to change the cartridge, but not how to address the "Off" setting not functioning properly. I tried again after my conversations with support, and was able to get the "Off" setting to work and change the filter. No idea why it took several tries to seal. I will likely add isolation valves to help with this. UPDATE: After leaving a negative review, Waterdrop contacted me about replacing the filter. Turns out the "Off" postion does not isolate the filter from backflow from the output side of the filter. Once I added a valve to the output side, I was able to prevent gravity backflow (filter in basement). At this point, the only negative remaining is how fast the filter gets clogged by the silt from the well-- certainly not the filter's fault. I'll have to see how well the backwash performs, now that I have a downstream valve.

Not your typical spin down filter
The filter is exactly as advertised. It is large and I have good confidence it will do the job. Overall, I am happy with the purchase. I expect it will provide long-term service that perfectly conforms with what I wanted from the outset. It is a solid unit that is well constructed. I am not complaining, but I did not find the installation very simple. I cut into the main water line and had some issues making everything fit back together, plus I changed a water line from pipe to copper. Also, the unit is not a typical spin down - it is a filter. But, I like it, and I am happy with the final product and installation.

Well built unit, but...
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I needed to upgrade my smaller filtration unit, and this one seemed to be a good fit with great reviews. The unit is very solid, with a brass body and fittings, heavy plastic filter housing with double o-rings and a brass retaining ring. The filters and internals all look well made and of good quality. The threaded unions with rubber seals are a very nice feature as well. Why 3 stars then? The mounting bracket is horrible. The filtration unit just...sits on it. There is no physical connection between the two, turning the act of changing the filter into a two person endeavor. The housing shifts, which make its impossible to get the wrench on the retainer nut. Then, while reinstalling the filter and housing, nothing holds the brass body in place so you can push up on it to secure the filter housing. I hate, hate, to give this unit 3 stars as it really is well built and appears to work well. But the mounting bracket is this things Achilles heel. If it weren't for the bracket, this thing would be 5 stars all of the way.

Great filter
I'm very happy with this filter! I replaced one that was clogging up at least once a day, sometimes more. This one is at least 4 times the size and water has been flowing much faster!
