Great Accessory For BTECH GMRS Pro Radio
I like the flexibility of using speaker mics with my GMRS radios and when I got the GMRS PRO which I specifically purchased for the bluetooth audio capabilities that it offers, I knew that I wanted to try a bluetooth speaker mic with it. I have not used a bluetooth speaker mic with any radios in the past, and when I looked online, there were cheaper versions made by other manufacturers at lower prices that might have worked and almost got one of those instead because of the price of this BTECH version being a bit higher. In the end I decided to stay with the brand and get the one designed specifically for the radio and I am glad I did. The build quality is very good and offers a sturdy rotating clip on the back along with a good number of function buttons that allows operating radio remotely from the mic. The sound quality is also very good in my opinion, it can get very loud if needed for noisy environments and the sound is very clear. I have not had any issues with battery life so far, but also do not need to use it for extremely long periods of time. I also love the status light integrated into the PTT button, it is helpful to know when its connected or muted as well as charging status, plus it just looks cool. A future update that would be helpful might be to allow an option to disable the light if needed to avoid having it blinking all the time for those that might require it. It is not the cheapest option in this category, but if needing a bluetooth speaker mic for the GMRS Pro, this is absolutely the way to go versus saving a few dollars on another brand, the integration and functions it has with the radio are absolutely worth it.

Great (Both BS-22 and BS-50)
BS:22 The microphone works great. Nice and loud and has super range. My only issue was it took awhile to pair. It wouldn't go into pairing mode for a while. Battery life is excellent. Transmit and receive sound quality is superb. BS:50 The BS-50 easily paired and has excellent range. Great battery life and great transmit and receive audio quality. Menu looks slightly different; but this isn't a drawback.

Great Device With a Couple of Issues
This is the ONLY wireless microphone I've been able to get to work correctly with my Btech UV-Pro, and I tried a bunch. That said, it does work perfectly. Long battery life and 3 programmable buttons. I have only 2 complaints. 1-The instructions for pairing, use and programming are minimal, almost useless. Luckily, doing this is pretty easy to figure out. 2-There is no 3.5 mm plug for an earpiece. While this is clearly not a deal breaker, it is shortcoming and a pain. Why because sometimes you want/need privacy or to not annoy folks around you with your radio communications. In addition, although I can program any Bluetooth headset to the UV-Pro or the BTECH Programmer App, keying up those headsets means you have to either be running on Android or you need to purchase another BTECH device to key-up the PPT. BTECH, if you're listening, fix this!

It's the Only Thing That Works
My first impression of the BS-22 was that it is the biggest, klunckyest speaker-mic that I have evers seen. It larger than most of my HTs. I have many.HTs. It weight is reasonable, however. The removable clip seems cheep, but it's sturdy and functional. I keep speaker mics clipped to a piece of webbing sewed to a mesh vest and push the buttons without ulclipping. So the size and button location are ok. I am using the BS-22 with a Btech UV-PRO. I have tried using several other headsets and earpieces. All of them had low audio volume with the UV-PRO, Even though they work with other devices. Ther volume buttons dont work. The BS-22 seems to be the only Bluetooth audio device that works. You can use a wired earpiece or speaker mic, but you will need a $22 adapter cable for K type connectors. Pairing the BS-22 to an UV-PRO took a certain amount of fiddling. The mic kept exiting paring mode and turning itself off.. The speaker audio is comparable to the UV-PRO. That is to say it lacks base, and tends to emphasize the hiss or steam on signals. It clearly reproduces speech. It can be adjusted to be really loud before distortion becomes a problem. Contacts report that the transmit audio is good. The brief users manual has some problems. It says to double click the P1 Key (decreas volume) to mute and to double click it again to unmute. Double clicking the P1 Key does not unmute. Rather, short clicking the P2 (increase volume) unmutes the speaker without increasing the volume level if it was muted. I find that I have to be careful when attempting to increae the loudness more than one step lest I mute the speaker. Under LED STATUS the manual states "Mute state: Double flash" this actually means that the radio is not receiving anything at the moment eg. the squelch is not open. . When the speaker is manually muted the LED slowly dimms and brightens. (undocumented feature). The range is similar to other Bluetooth devices that i have used. There is one peculiarity. Other devices either just quit or give a notification when you move out of range; the BS-22 audio gradually degrades when out of range. The audio became increasingly garbled as seperation distance increased and finally stopped. Audio remained unintelligible when the BS-22 was brought near the UV-PRO. Turning the BS-22 off, then on fixes it. Finally, I am dissapointed that the BS-22 lacks a 3.5 mm jack for an earpiece for occasions when bystanders don't need to hear the radio. In summary, the BS-22 works with the UV-PRO, and it's about the only Bluetooth audio device that does. To unmute the speaker--when the LED is slowly fading on and out--short click the the volume up button (at the upper righ-hand. If the audio is garbled, try reducing the separation from the radio, then turn the BS-22 off then on again. I don't think that the UV-PRO and BS-22 were ready to be released; i think that they escaped!
