Q: What is it sweetened with?

Just spoke with See's customer service and was told is Maltitol: Maltitol is a sugar alcohol (a polyol) used as a sugar substitute. It has 75-90% of the sweetness of sucrose (table sugar) and nearly identical properties, except for browning.

Q: Why so expensive? It is only $18.50 on the See's website.

Q: Just a note, I was actually delighted that you have more than one sugar free favorite of mine. Isn't anything that ends with ose actually sugar?

The ending -ose does denote the chemical name of a sugar, but the generic name sugar represents a class of chemicals and there are many types of sugars other than sucrose (table sugar, the default if the type of sugar is not specified). The body may digest other sugars differently from sucrose.
