Metamucil Smooth Texture Sugar-Free Unflavored 114 Each (OLD)

Bought this for my mom. We couldn’t find it anywhere else but,Amazon. It keeps you full and,Helps you to go easier.

I was having some tummy issues and my doctor recommended taking Metamucil. My tummy has been much happier since I started taking Metamucil daily. It works great. That being said, why is the unflavored so hard to find and buy????? And the price for it is getting rather expensive. The orange version can be bought for $20 less than the unflavored and has .5 more pounds in the container. NOT EVERYONE LIKES ORANGE!!! I hate the smell and taste of oranges. The orange flavored Metamucil makes me want to vomit. (My husband uses the orange daily and doesn't mind it all.) It seems there are a lot of people that buy this unflavored version. I'm sure many more would buy it if it were kept in stock and the price not skyrocketing. I understand there are, and have been, a lot of issues getting supplies and items made and shipped. I understand the company is trying (probably) to keep this in stock. That being said, as a customer I think I am going to have to start looking elsewhere for a fiber supplement.

This product has been impossible to find for months. Bought another container through Amazon not long ago. The price was outrageous, but it was all we could find. This purchase was a little cheaper, but still too much. Not Amazon's fault; it's the suppliers. We're very glad the unflavored, no sugar added variety is still available. Wish it would show back up on the shelves, or at least come down to a normal price on line. However, I would highly recommend Metamucil. Does just what it says. Great product!

I purchased this for a family member who was having some bathroom issues. We'd tried stool softeners (worked for one day, not after), fiber pills (seemed to work, but taking 6 three times a day seemed unreasonable), and other options. Now we are trying this and it seems to be the best option to stay regular with comfortable bowel movements. Without going into too much detail, and having been told rather than seeing it myself, it has also improved the consistency of the poop. (LOL!) Overall, it is a good product and will probably become part of the daily routine of our family member. The taste is noticeable in some drinks- it doesn't mix well with soda at all, for example. But it goes well into water, Crystal Light's Peach Tea, etc. In the right drinks, you really can't taste it. This product might have gotten five stars but it does need to be taken three times a day which makes it a little less convenient and the jar should have included a scooper to ensure accuracy (you have to use your own- not a big deal). The cost is also a little higher than what I would like to pay- but I bet my much happier family member doesn't mind the extra cost for the added comfort.

My vet prescribed this to prevent furballs and it works! This is the unflavored version. I mix it into her food and my cat doesn't even know she's taking it. I started with a one time 1/4 teaspoon, then a 1/8th tsp every other day, but you should ask your own vet for a dosage that's appropriate for your particular pet.

Seriously, we have a 16 year old lady in our house, and since she’s a kitty, that roughly translates to about 82 human years — or, according to our vet, “nearly ancient.” As she has aged, she has developed a certain - “ahem” - bowel problem. You have not seen suffering until you’ve seen an elderly cat who’s constipated. Our vet recommended adding a little canned pumpkin to her food (for fiber) and daily Metamucil. It took a some doing, but by taking a bit of this no sugar/no flavor Metamucil mixed in a little water and then added to her moist cat food, she eventually got used to it. The results have been absolutely life saving. If this stuff is so miraculous for a cat, I imagine a human would have just as much luck. Please be sure to check with your own vet before trying this.

This is hard to swallow because it tastes so awful.

This is a great product but it is at least twice as expensive as it was only a year ago and approximately 2x the price of the flavored product.. It’s the exact same product as the flavored except for the flavor and sugar or sugar substitute so it should actually be cheaper.

Can't find the unsweetened (no sugar, no aspartame) version at the store any more.
