Major fan! Lacks lead indicator but improves pencil from 600 model
Major fan! I miss the lead indicator, truly, but love the retractable lead and sleeve! The pencil writes and sketches perfectly showing it’s well balanced. The barrel is hexagonal preventing it from rolling around willy nilly and the barrel being slightly thicker than the model 600 feels like my hand having finally found just the right thickness. I find it just as sturdy as my 600 model.

rOtring quality pencil
Decided to purchase de Rapid Pro despite some criticism agaist the middle connector made of red plastic. Honestly, this piece of plastic looks and feels very resilient and I don't see how it could fail IF the pencil is used correctly. This is a moderately expensive item as should be valued and cared as such. I like the mate black finish and its quality and functionality.

Rotring Rapid Pro is excellent!
I have been using Rotring products for many years and appreciate their general strength and finishing. However, when I came across the Rapid Pro 0.7 I had to try it. It is next level. Definitely a little bit pricey, but it is a quality product - well made, good feel, strong, well balanced. They need to advertise this product a little better…

Does the job nicely.
Great mechanical pencil. Nice weight and I use it to check construction plans using a blue HB 0 5 lead.

Durable and aesthetic
Once you get used to using this pencil, you can't go back to the weight of cheap plastic mechanical pencils ever again. Some things to note about this pencil: 1. Eraser is small but very firm. I try to only use it only for very precise marking removal. 2. After taking the eraser cap off and putting in on over and over, the cap begins to loosen and might even fall off the pencil. I easily fixed this problem by putting a slight (unnoticeable) dent in the cap. 3. If the pencil shakes while writing, you may hear a slight rattling sound from the inner components. This isn't ideal, but not a huge flaw. 4. The clip appears to be removable, but seems to require an excessive amount of force to actually get it off. I didn't put in the effort to try to remove it once I noticed this. 5. Due to its metal construction, the pencil has a solid weight to it. Be sure to let the weight of the pencil do the work. Overall, I've been using this pencil for engineering course work for 2 months now and I still love it. It seems to add significance to everything I write with it. This product is definitely worth the $30 asking price

Love the weight and feel!!
I really love the weight and feel of this pencil. I bought it as a replacement for my Pentel Graphgear 1000 which broke along the plastic connector section of the body. I was hoping that the Rapidpro would be all metal, but unfortunately after reading other reviews I realized the red connector piece on the body is plastic. It is still a great pencil. It functions smoothly and is a pleasure to use every day. If they had figured out a way to make it all metal I would definitely give it 5 stars. Still I think it is a good pencil for the price. I really like the sliding sleeve because I put my pencil in my backpack and don't want the tip breaking off. I think extension/retraction mechanism of the Graphgear 1000 is better because I like how that clicks in and out of place quickly. However, the weight, feel, and grip on the Rapidpro are far superior to the Graphgear and are worth the slightly higher price. The sliding sleeve can retract slowly as the lead wears down, but I don't really like writing with the lead barely extended. So that aspect of the sliding sleeve doesn't do anything for me.

Pretty nice
Great pencil. Use it for school work and writing. However, the eraser is not very reliable. Very smooth and sturdy.

The best. End of story. No dissapointment neccessary
After trying numerous different mechanical pencils, all of which have retractable heads, this is by far the most durable, and BEST one I have used. I absolutely love the solid feel and the solid metal grip of this pencil. The head not only retracts, but if you press down too hard on the lead it will retract itself to prevent the lead from breaking. The pocket clip is also very sturdy, very durable, and holds a firm grip on anything you clip it to. I was worried that the retractable tip would come out too far and would in turn cause the lead to break. But on the contrary, the tip comes out to just the right length, and doesn't wear out it's welcome. I will definitely be purchasing another one of these Rotring (weird name) pencils in the future. They are without a doubt the BEST mechanical pencils that you can spend your hard earned cash on.

I have used lots of pentel and staedler pencils before but ROTRING RAPID PRO/ROTRING 600 IS THE BEST and this statement is gonna remain universal untill the end of time. [ Proud to exaggerate ] ------------------------------------------------------------ FINAL VERDICT ✅The best mechanical pencil (tried pentel, lamy, staedtler and many others). ✅SUPER STURDY and you can pass this one to next generation after your last breath. ✅Very expensive but considering it will last lifetime i would rate 4/5 in VALUE FOR MONEY. 🙏🙏Please press the helpful button if so and follow my Amazon profile🙏🙏 ------------------------------------------------------------ DESIGN AND BUILD 👍Although the Rotring brand is now owned by some japanese brand still the german aesthetics are no less in this ALL BRASS METAL SUPER STURDY BUILD. 👍The metal KNURLING is THE BEST on the market.🥰 👍The retractable lead sleeve is awesome⭐ 👍Very satisfying click and about 10 clicks come out 6mm of lead. 👍The Hexagonal brass body is very comfortable to hold. 👍Very sturdy pocket clip. 👍Matt black colour is dope and utilitarian (more classy than silver version and three colour is durable too, it won't go out in long time. ------------------------------------------------------------ WRITING PERFORMANCE 👍👍A+++ the heavy nature of the pen helps in enhancing writing experience since you don't need to press the lead much harder since the pencil itself is sharing the job with its own weight. IT WILL MAKE YOU QUIT YOUR PARKER PEN AND ADOPT THE PENCIL WAY OF WRITING. ☺ ------------------------------------------------------------ CONS The single con of this pencil is the screws joint behind the red ring (refer my attached images) that is made of plastic, metal would have been nice but considering you don't need to unscrew it very often it would still go strong for lifetime.

The pencil works like a German made machine. It retract (manually) to protect the lead and the cylinder around it.
