There's Treasure Inside

A beautiful conversation starter!
I bought this book because I thought reading about the history of all the various treasure items would be interesting. What a wonderful read! I read it in just a few evenings. I couldnât put it down. Jonâs message about finding joy is a positive light in this dark world. I highly recommend this book whether you are searching for one of Jonâs treasure boxes or, like me, just want to learn about the treasure. This book is beautiful and is a conversation starter!

Hopefully I find the treasure!
Good content if you can focus, I bought to see if there was any clues in the book for local finds. I have a hard time focusing, probably because I think everything is a clue.

Fun Adventure!
This is a fun distraction from everyday life. Will I ever solve the mysteries, hell no, but I have worked out some of the clues. I wish the best of luck to anyone who can actually spend the time to attempt the challenge.

A cautionary taleâŠ
ââ- Update (12/31/24) ââ-With a little distance from this initial reviewâand a bit more rereading under my beltâit seems I forgot several lessons that the book covered in detail. Iâm not surprised I did. I tend to learn lessons multiple times, the hard way. Thereâs a lot more to say, but I think for now, as we approach the new year, Iâll leave you with a pertinent quote from the book:âSo, if you want to find the treasures, Iâve hidden, donât demand too much of yourself. You donât have to find them quickly or on your first try. If you do, congratulations. But if you do not, then use your failure as an opportunity to evaluate, understand more, and try again. I would not be surprised if failure winds up being part of the process that eventually leads you to our treasure. Welcome it as much as you are capable.âââ- Original Review ââ-I spent the majority of the last two weeks exploring this book and making extensive notes on it. I was having a wonderful time doing it, and even felt like Jon was something of a kindred soul. I was totally invested and grew more and more excited about it every day.Eventually I felt like I was closing in on the location of one of the chests. The Appalachian Footpath Box. It wasnât exactly a perfect match to the map in the book, but it was pretty dang close. Closer than anything else Iâd been able to find after going over the entire trail in detail. Some of the other hints seemed to line up too.So armed with what I thought was the general location of a chest, I paid for a round-trip ticket across the country, a rental car, 6 days at an Airbnb, and all sorts of outdoor gear. This was a big deal for me, and I donât just mean financially. I never take trips by myself. I have ADHD and anxiety issues. Low self-esteem. But the writing spoke to me. It was inspirational. So much so that in place of my usual negative self-talk I started thinking thoughts like âWhy NOT me?â SOMEONE was going to find the chest. Why couldnât it be me? It honestly felt empowering and I couldnât help but think about how good it would feel to be one of the few people to find a chest. Heck, maybe Iâd be able to pay it forward some day and create a hidden treasure of my own.Ok, flash forward to a couple hours ago. Iâm in the Airbnb looking at the map after having spent the day searching the location. Doubts are starting to set in. What if I was wrong? Could there be a location on the AT that I accidentally passed over in my search? After spending more time going over the AT map, I decided to poke around on the internet to see what I could find (The book recommends not to. This was my first time). Thatâs when I came across a blog that specifically discusses the map. What I read made my heart drop into my stomach. It suddenly made sense why I never found a perfect match. Iâd made a small assumption. One that a lotta people probably make. The text purposefully leads you into it and even the clue implies it.Now Iâm out $2,000 from the trip and feel like a total idiot. I donât have a lot of money. Worse yet, I wonât even be with my partner for NYE because I came here. The exciting adventure I thought I was going on has turned into another thing to endlessly beat myself up about.I know itâs my faultâeven if the chapter is incredibly deceptiveâbut I also know thereâs other people out there like me who will get inspired and excited and end up doing something they regret. Maybe with a little luck this review will find them first.Thatâs not to say that you shouldnât buy the book. Itâs incredibly well written. I throughly enjoyed every page and I think it would be a worthwhile read even without the treasure. But if youâre the kind of person who gets excited easily, or has executive function issues like me, you could get yourself into trouble. So be very careful if you invest yourself in this book.If you arenât, you could find yourself with less joy than you started with.

The Joy of Reading!
What a wonderous book!!This book has it all â mystery, intrigue, a call to action, and a very likeable main character (Dare I say characters?). A real page turner, for sure! The author played with some new techniques and they really worked for me â was able to shake the spiderwebs off and enjoy a good read+The read was interesting as it was immersive. Like any great thriller, I went through many twists and turns and I was left guessing until the very end. Even though I finished it earlier today, I know Iâm headed back in to see how the author was able to tie up all of the loose ends so seamlessly.I feel like I need to invite the author, and fam, over to share a brew and some stories #fr. If every youâre in the area . . . .If I could give it 5 Red Hearts, I would đ Thank you! Thank you for the Joy youâve brought home.XOXOXO,US

This is a FICTIONAL treasure hunt!
If I could give less then one star I would. They removed my first review which over 200 people found helpful. Please do your research on these treasure hunting books. The author of these books writes multiple treasure hunts under different pen names and markets them as non-fiction. She made a youtube channel talking about writing a fictional treasure hunting book. If you ask questions they will block you, delete your posts and call you a troll. Just beware. Check out KPro Nanowrimo on youtube and you will see for yourself it's fiction. If you want to search for fictional treasure buy this book!
