Seagate FireCuda Gaming Hub Review
The Seagate FireCuda Gaming Hub is an external hard drive designed for gamers who need a lot of storage space for their games, movies, and other content. Here are some reviews of the Seagate FireCuda Gaming Hub, 8TB Pros Large capacity for storing a vast collection of games and other content. Fast for a spinning external hard drive, thanks to its 7,200rpm platters. RGB lighting adds a cool look to any gaming setup. Great value for the price compared to external SSDs. Easy to connect and use. Cons Plodding compared with most external SSDs. Limited range of connectors. Plastic build could be more premium. Can't play PlayStation 5 games from the hard drive. Overall, the Seagate FireCuda Gaming Hub is a great desk addition for backing up and archiving your collection. It is a great value for the price and excels at backing up and storing all the games you could ever hope to own. The 8TB version is perfect for those who need a lot of storage space for their games and other content. The FireCuda Gaming Hub is fast for a spinning external hard drive, thanks to its 7,200rpm platters, but it is plodding compared with most external SSDs. The limited range of connectors is a downside, but it is easy to connect and use. The plastic build could be more premium, but the RGB lighting adds a cool look to any gaming setup. Great value Xbox storage quick setup with one extra step
I bought the Senate 2TB external hard drive to expand storage on my Xbox and overall it’s been a great, reliable addition. The drive wasn’t pre-formatted for Xbox, so I needed to format it on a PC first. This only took a few minutes and was very straightforward, but it’s worth knowing in advance in case you don’t have easy access to a computer. Once that was done, the Xbox recognised it immediately with no issues. Since then, performance has been solid. Games install and run smoothly, it’s quiet in use, doesn’t get hot, and feels well made for the price. The 2TB capacity gives loads of room for modern games and updates, which is a big plus. Overall, excellent value for money. As long as you’re aware of the quick formatting step, it does exactly what you want and works seamlessly with Xbox once set up. Would happily recommend.

Does the job
This seems like a pretty decent device. I have a PC and a laptop connected through switches and a hub, and this hard drive switches between the 2 fine. It needs an external power supply. The cable provided isn't that long, so one to watch out for when you're planning to position this on or under your desk. I had to position it closer to a power source, so it's on the opposite side of the desk to where I wanted it. It's quite noisy. When both the PC/Laptop and the drive are going, it's annoying but manageable. It's to be expected as it's not an SSD and it'll need some sort of cooling going on too I imagine. It has an rgb light, which can be turned off through their software. I'd prefer it if there was a physical button for this instead of having to install bloatware just to control the lights. It's nice that you can control the colours or turn the lights off completely though. Speeds are nothing to write home about, but it was on offer and was an affordable 8Tb drive... it does the job. With it not being a SSD I have a bit more confidence in its durability. It seems pretty robust. It's got a good weight to it, it doesn't look like it's going to fall apart easily.

Brought a while ago now
Yeah this big old box is great. Not had any issues since I brought it. Noise is low especially compared to the laptop I was using at the time of purchase and even quieter than the PC I have now. If you have the right program you can change the lights display as well. I've barely used the storage at all, still loads of capacity left, even with some 100+ GB games installs on there. Relatively quick although some games just straight up require SSD. Never had any issues with compatibility just plug in and go. Has it's own power supply so you'll never have to worry about draining a laptop battery.

Failed me.
The only external HD I have which actually failed me. I've had a dozen of external HD, some even 30 years old and they still work. This I must say is the only one which doesn't work and all in under 12 months of usage. A complete waste of time. I recommend other hard drives from this make, they still work. Seagate is a good make, but this unit didn't do the job for me.

RGB Lights make it go faster
Does what it's supposed to do. I bought one years ago to use with a PS5, and it's plug and play. Works out of the box. I'm using it to store games on, as the less than a TB of storage that comes with the launch PS5 is not enough. It's still working today. Setting up the lights on it is easy. The drive comes with a link to the webpage to download the software pre-installed. Press the link, download the software, immediately have the ability to alter the colour settings. The settings are retained even if the drive is switched off or moved. I just purchased a new one to watch media on a smart TV with. I did have to reformat it to NTFS to make the TV recognise it, but a simple 'reformat' in windows did the job and now it's working fine. I think £100 is too expensive for 2TB, but when it's on sale for around half price that's fairer. There are plenty of other hard drives on amazon that are slightly cheaper but aren't from official companies are sound like they're made in a basement in China, and amazon doesn't monitor what's actually on them so anything could happen when they're plugged in. It's worth paying a little bit extra to get one from an official company that's known to be safe. Lastly, selecting the 'rainbow' option for the LEDs obviously makes the drive work faster.
