Show up as a familiar vendor in Device Manager. Works as expected at high speed baud rate.

Close, but no cigar!
Use with 2 laptops - one Windows 10, one Windows 11. I plugged the adapter into a USB port on each laptop in turn and each one recognized the adapter instantly. Going to Device Manager I found that the adapter appeared as COM3, 9600,8,N,1 on both machines. Was able to re-assign the port number to what I needed without any problem. I did not need the included CD to set up and use the device. HOWEVER when I went to plug the male end on the adapter into the female socket on the device I was connecting I discovered that the 9-pin RS-232 plug on the adapter has FEMALE screw sockets instead of male screws to attach it with. It was impossible to plug the adapter into the female receptacle on the device I was trying to connect. This is stupid. RS-232 has been around forever, and the MALE end should have the screw connectors and the FEMALE end have the screw sockets. I had to use an RS-232 extension cable in order to connect the adapter to the device.

This should be plug and play simple
Very hard to read the instructions, finally downloaded the driver, didn't work and screwed up my floppy disk on the other USB port. This is my only complaint after 20 years of ordering electronics.

AN INANIMATE SAVIOR
Since September 2021, I have been searching for a RS-232 Serial Splitter Cable or PCIe Industrial DB9 RS232 Com port adapter card. This device is required to add extra COM ports for my students' Windows 10 Pro lab PCs (e.g., HP Elite Desk 800-G2) to administer Cisco 2960 switches simultaneously.My first search ended with a purchasing a total of 20, QVS brand, DB9/Serial Splitter Cables (SSC). The serial splitter cables stated compatible with Windows 10 Pro. However, after receiving and installing the SSC, one Cisco switch worked. While the second Cisco switch produce unrecognizable characters.My second choice, I purchased only 1, PCIe Industrial DB9 RS232 Com port adapter card. The Windows 10 Pro drivers provided were not compatible and the results were identical.Frustrated, but I refuse to give up.November 26, 2021, I located an USB to Serial Adapter, Benfei USB to RS-232/DB9 Serial cable, Prolific Chipset. “WOW!” After installing this cable and Windows 10 Pro Drivers on student’s PC, I can truly say, “Job Well Done!”Thank you BenFei engineers for providing the answer to my September endeavor to increase Com Ports on all lab PCs.V/rLarry

Does not work with Windows 11
Doesn't work with windows 11. Tried downloading drivers from the website, but no success. Ended up buying TRENDnet USB to Serial 9-Pin Converter Cable, Connect a RS-232 Serial Device to a USB 2.0 and it worked perfectly no need to install any extra drivers with Windows 11.
