RAINPOINT Water Meter, LCD Water Flow Meter Smart Flowmeters with Two Quick Connectors, for Lawn Sprinkler Garden Hose Irrigation System RV Tank, Measuring in Gallons or litres

I wanted a water meter to monitor how much water I was putting in my RV tanks. I ordered 2 different very popular brands on Amazon before this one. The both leaked right out of the box. This one did not. It is working after just a couple of uses so far. That is a much better way to start. The first one I ordered looked quite different. It did not come with any disconnects. The second one I ordered looks nearly the same. It came with half of one side of a disconnect???? Why bother? You need 2 haves of a disconnect for both sides of the meter to be useful. 1/4 of the disconnect parts do nothing. That might be why this one does not leak. With the disconnects, I could screw everything to the hose and connections without the meter. Then just snap the meter in place. The only thing I do not like is, I wanted to install this on the RV end of the hose. The meter is upside down to do that. So the meter is somewhat hard to read. Rainpoint should make an "RV" version with the meter in the opposite orientation

This summer was an exceptionally dry summer with no measurable rain since April. Consequently, I started watering my lawn. While doing so I became curious as to just how much water I was using particularly in light of the fact we are on a well. So, I decided to purchase the Rainport Water Meter. One thing I can say is that it is very simple to use. One button for everything from changing Gal to Liters and toggling through the various setting such as flow rate, gallons used etc. I like these two setting the most: Gallons per watering session and cumulative total for several days of watering.I did give it the bucket test as well by filling a one-gallon milk jug several times and found that the unit was off by approximately one tenth of a gallon a couple of times. But then again, that’s what the product description says. A note of interest: if your hose has air in it and you have the flow meter on the output end of the hose, it will measure the air as gallons of water. As a mater of fact, if you blow through it, it will begin registering a flow.Unit also has an auto off feature to conserve the battery (one CR2032). And the quick disconnects are an added feature allowing you to be able to remove the meter and reconnect the hose with out the usual twist and twist routine.Needless to say, it meets my water usage curiosity expectations so it’s a keeper.

Purchased this to guage our water usage on out TT. After only 30 days, the display o the meter stopped working. The company would not refund, so they sent us out a replacement. The 2nd one lasted 3 weeks and stopped working. It appeared this water had gotten inside the device and ruined the display.Update. Rain Point customer care reached out and sent me out the new updated model free of charge. The new unit is wifi compatible and uses a link on your phone for the readout. I bought this flow meter for my RV and it works perfectly. I connect it to my black tank flush so I know just how much water has gone into the tank to keep it from overflowing. It shuts off on its own and turns on as soon as you turn the water on. Couldn’t ask for a better flow meter, it even comes with quick disconnects
