Really good and durable mechanical pencil
Really good and durable mechanical pencil and with .9mm lead that isn't easy to break even with heavy press writing. Light weight, easy to use, high visibility, and strong lead size.

I have been using this brand and size pencil since 1992. I am obsessed with it. It's the only pencil I have ever used in 33 years. That's the best recommendation I can give you.

Pentel 0.9 is best pencil for heavy-handed writing
I press too hard when I write. I know I shouldn't, but I've been writing that way for 45+ years, so I'm not likely to change now. Before I got my first Pentel 0.9 mm, I wanted to use a mechanical pencil, but I couldn't because I constantly snapped pencil leads. 0.7 mm was bad, 0.5 mm was unusable. So I was stuck with wood pencils. That all changed when a friend introduced me to the Pentel with the 0.9 mm lead. It is a joy to write with because I finally have a pencil that almost never breaks. It's comfortable to hold, too. I'll warn you that the 0.9 mm lead leaves a very bold line, so that may not be what you want. Personally, I love that too. Good value
The 0.9mm seems to be just the right size for woodworking as it doesn't break off easy yet it's a sharp, precise line. The included lead is dark enough and seems to hold up fine. The pencil advances the lead the right amount without pushing it out too far and making prone to breaking off. The internal mechanism and clip seem identical to the much cheaper set from Mr. Pen. The only minor issue is the muddy, muted shade of yellow. The pictures on the product page show a true yellow but what I received is almost a shade of tan.
