Masontops Pickle Pebble Infinity Glass Fermentation Weights - Brining Weights Kit - Plain Mouth Mason Fermentation Jar

I deliberated for ages on whether to spend money on both the pickle pipes and pickle pebbles, and in the end I did and love them both. The pipes in particular do such a specific job that saves you time and having to remember to burp the bottles. The pebbles are great too and have a little indent to hold them. Am seriously considering the wide mouth versions now as well.

These do the job for which I bought them, keeping vegetable matter submerged in liquid, but they are not easy to remove. I have to use a knife slipped down the side if the jar opening to force them to turn sideways, so I can then pick up with my fingers. This adds to the likeihood of contamination, so I wash my hands first. Serviceable, but the ones with handles might be worth the extra cash.

I was so happy to finally treat myself to these little beauts, I got them straight into my sauerkraut and it was so satisfying and pleasing to the eye. They are really nice and I'll invest in more when I can.

These glass weights have made the making of sauerkraut so much better. Instead of trying to keep the veg under the brine with bits of stump (which go mouldy) the weight does the job. Easy to clean but I do worry about damaging them if I should drop them as they are quite shiny and slippery when wet.

These fit well in wide-mouth jars well and are easier to handle than other weights that I've used.

Ordered these as they were smaller and hoped they would fit the large mayonnaise jars I make sauerkraut in. Still too big for my jars

These must be the only glass weights in the world that fit inside the neck of a Kilner 1l fermenting jar! I was beginning to loose all hope and thinking I would need to either come up with some other way to hold my food down in the jars while it ferments or get different mason jars and hope that all the other weights on sale that claim to fit inside 1l Kilner jars will actually fit inside the mason jar. If you have 1l Kilner jars like in my photo and are looking for weights please buy these. Now I can get on fermenting - thank you Masontops!

Was a bit pricey but i'm a regular home fermenter and these jar weights for standard neck 1L Kilner jars are not easy to find. Wide neck jars ones are very common but i'd already invested in the jars and valve lids. The size of these wights is decent but not perfect for standard neck 1L Kilner jars. The quality of the product is good. They're solid glass, have a handle for ease of use and are easy to clean. However, the jar needs to be absolutely packed full of whatever it is that you're pickling or fermenting for the weight to sit on top. Otherwise the weight sinks through the contents to the bottom. So from that regard the product isn't ideal. Especially if you are using the pickled item as you go without refilling and want to keep the rest of the contents from air contact / spoilage. It more or less does the job I need it to do. But it's an imperfect solution tbh - hence the 3 stars. I do have the perfect thing for the job. A little domed condiment container lid that fits so perfectly inside Kilner 1L jar and sits on top of the liquid. But it was a gift and I don't know where to find more!
